A 2- to 3-foot gator was found in the parking lot of a Pathmark store around 7:50 p.m. Tuesday, police said. A second alligator measuring 3-4 feet was found in the same lot Wednesday afternoon, WCBS 880's Sophia Hall reported.

This report calls it at THREE gators, but should you visit that one I HIGHLY reccommend pop-up and ad-blockers cause of massive amounts of ad-spam.

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Yeah, it's long been known that people buy numerous "exotic species" when they grow too big. Happens everywhere; it's only in warm climates like Florida where they don't die off in Winter. Maybe these guys have found somewhere warm to ride out the cold weather...I wonder if sewers are warm enough? Or else some "collector" decided to dump several at the same time, before Winter set in.

My heart goes out to the gators more than anyone else; mankind caused this, not the gators. When I kept reptiles, I was always careful not to acquire anything that was dangerous or would grow big enough to be danterous. The only exception was a green anaconda, but she was a rescue and I co-owned him with another guy, who took her over when I moved North. She sure was beautiful, but there again, as she grew she would have become aggressive (she was only 6 feet long when I "homed" her).

Basically, many people are stupid...and selfish...and short sighted.
