Wesley Snipes is a brave Black Patriot. Not too smart tho, didn't do his homework on what wins IRS cases.

All IRS trials are under Admiralty Martial Law, "with the appearance of a Civil Action," via debt collection of an IRS lien by "Federal" Reserve Debt Notes. In other words, piracy.

Then they came for me
and by that time no one was left to speak up."
-Catholic Priest Martin Niemöller, survivor of the kosher Nazi death camps, They Thought They Were Free. At the Holocaust Museum in Washington DC the quotation is on display but is censored so that there is no mention of jewish Communists who genocided 60-million Russian Christians...

Too bad for Snipes. I like him as an actor. I think he got and took some really bad advice to not pay his taxes. If he pays the money back and pays the fines I think he should avoid jail time, but apprently he will be going to jail regardless. Seems like full restitution and some community service would serve the public and justice more than him rotting in prison.

You know, Snipes is going to jail for failure to file, not failure to pay. That's what they got Al Capone on too. In both cases, the prison sentence is actually for something else they couldn't have gotten convicted for.

His prison sentence has nothing to do with justice (getting the taxes owed), and everything to do with punishment (for daring to challenge IRS interpretation of the code).

Just a note - you DO realize that they couldn't possibly arrest ALL of us, if such a thing was done en-masse, right ?

Would ALL of us ever do such a thing? I mean, how many people here on RWED would do what Snipes did? How many on this board would protest taxes? You, me, DT, Sergeant.... 4? 6? out of 20?

Most of us don't have the luxury of making that decision. Our taxes are taken out by our employers. I file to get my little refund. If I was a freelancer who had nothing withheld I might be tempted to cut some corners.

If you WERE to pay your own taxes, would you protest taxes by not filing an income tax return? Or claiming zero taxable income?
