Yes, we all know about the quality of animals in therapy, but it never hurts to see another one.

Oh that the medical community would pick up on this and find some way to utilize it more...

Maybe religion does something similar for people, but me, I prefer cats...and dogs...

Actually therapy cats can be very useful. Imagine all the stress you could get out by beating a cat with one of those foam therapy bats.

Ha!, some of my cats would actually enjoy the fight!
Puppy and Squirmy for sure, but you'd need a new bat afterwords, cause they have eeeeevil little claws.

And yes, kitty therapy is awesome, back when I was a kid I did some of my "community service" time by carrying around a lap cat to retirement hopes for elderly folk who didn't have any close family, and they lit right up over it - I also got to learn a lot of history for folk who were actually *there*, and so I kept doin it here and there even after I wasn't legally required to.

Mistreated kids do well with this too, because kitties and puppies can often tell when a child is unhappy, and will try their darndest to comfort them.

Sometimes when it's cold and the pain of my injuries gets really bad, Kallista will come shove herself up against me, like a heating pad that purrs, and it does help, or would, if the little bitch didn't steal all my damn covers once I start to feel better...

Yeah, I love the way animals sense stuff like that...I wish I knew how they did it and that we could, but I really love it nonetheless.

There are SO many ways dogs and cats can help us, if we just let them. Thank goodness people are realizing this and experimenting with different things...like dogs sniffing out cancer. Hopefully they'll find more and more ways they can be helpful...gawd knows our self-destructive little species needs all the help it can GET!

Actually one of my cats *bit* a PETA rep once.

Was funny, they came to my door to whine and whinge about how keeping pets was such an affront, de-facto slavery, all that sorry old rag...

To a guy who spoils his pets so rotten that I know people who'd wanna be reincarnated as one of my cats!

And Fedoran loped up to em, sniffed a couple times, and sank his little fangs into the girls ankle.
In between trying not to laugh as I pulled him off and held him in my arms, grinning like the psycho he most surely was, I told her that was apparently Fedorans answer to the idea that he wasn't here of his own free will.

She left all in a huff, heh heh.

As for offensive language, well shit, were you to hear what that cat "says" to ME when she doesn't get her way, you'd be more forgiving of any insults goin the other way - cause when she decides to make her will known it's kinda like watching a Sergeant chew out a recruit in a foreign language, you might not know the words, but you're pretty damn sure of the content...

And not a word of it is very nice!
