Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Hey, here’s an idea! I’m gonna see if I can contact anyone down there who can get me out on the beach at night with some of these folks!
Quote:

Coming out in the midst of the night, is a glowing red of workers on Pensacola Beach cleaning up the day’s landing of oil on the once sugar white sand. Arriving on scene with supplied busses, workers could be seen all through the night up to the early morning, in groups and in-line, bagging oil that had washed in to litter and stain the beach. Workers were seen working around-the-clock, day and night trying keep up with the battle between the arriving oil and the arriving tourists.

BP crews were instructed to turn to cleanup efforts at night, according to an update from Tallahassee, and in Escambia County, close to the Mississippi border, night-time sweeps were scheduled for Thursday on Pensacola Beach and Peridido.

The sweltering summer sun melts tar balls, making them harder to collect. And daytime labor is taking its toll on specially trained workers in plastic jumpsuits and gloves.

Nearby, a Fort Walton Beach family of five likewise defied warnings to leave the oil pollution to trained workers, with father James Williams, 32, declaring, "Until it gets worse we'll keep coming back."[/qote] His daughter scooped up tar balls with a pink plastic shovel and put them in a plastic bag.

Shoot, if a little girl can do it, I can find a way...here’s hoping...

I also found some smaller, local groups in Louisiana that I e-mailed today...

Whozit has a point though. You could trim the number of threads. Earlier you posted two threads on the subtopic of the awhale. You can Chang the title of your own thread if you want to say "the awhale is in"

It's just that, while, yes, this is the big story, there are other stories, and it does sort of flood the board. And if it doesn't seem like I haven't yelled at John enough about this, if you were reading back old posts, you probably saw that i yelled at him about it for a very long time before giving up.

I try to find stories other than the gulf as well, since I try every day to put up a few new posts. On the other hand, yes, his threads are "varied", but they are more often than not conspiracy bullshit, ugly anti-Obama, anti-Jew, etc., crap, and they far outnumber threads put up by any other single person almost every day.

The A Whale story had moved on down the list by the time I posted the second one and I assume it would just go on down the list. It's a living, breathing thing, and if nobody replies, the topic slides on down.

Anyway, thank you for your critique.
