The funny thing about Ron Paul (and his son, Rand Paul) is that I agree with them 100%, but only 50% of the time. But I disagree with them 200% about 50% of the time.

Did you know that RAND PAUL, all by his lonesome, stopped the Patriot Act from being reauthorized "as is" just before Senate recess a few weeks ago?

Yep, apparently there was only one Senator with enough cajones to stand up to the NSA's broad snooping powers, in which they have been hoovering up personal data on tens (if not hundreds) of millions of Americans for no reason whatsoever! (And I mean- literally- no reason whatsoever.)

Did you know that Section 215 of the so-called "Patriot Act" allowed the DHS to subpoena YOUR information from service providers (including libraries) without a warrant, without probable cause, and therefore without judicial oversight, AND with a permanent gag order attached?

Now, how in hell does that square with the Constitution, which says

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects,[a] against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Clearly, the so-called "Patriot Act" is unconstitutional, and Rand Paul seems to be the only one who cares enough about your rights to make a deal about them.

Is that being a "crank"?

Maybe, but if it is, I want to be a crank too!
