Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

Going all the way back to the early days... Quote: In 1988, former Canadian Minister of the Environment, told editors and reporters of the Calgary Herald: “No matter if the science of global warming is all phony…climate change [provides] the greatest opportunity to bring about justice and equality in the world.” Also, there's this gem... Quote: Also speaking at the Rio conference, Deputy Assistant of State Richard Benedick, who then headed the policy divisions of the U.S. State Department said: “A global warming treaty [Kyoto] must be implemented even if there is no scientific evidence to back the [enhanced] greenhouse effect.” http://www.forbes.com/sites/larrybell/2013/02/05/in-their-own-words-climate-alarmists-debunk-their-science/ Screw the evidence, we'll make it up if we have to, but the goal remains the same. Damn near the same exact message Hugo Chavez gave in Copenhagen, a few years ago

I never saw one up close until I helped my brother move out of his apartment before going to the east coast. Over 300 windmills spread out in a pattern the nations top engineers determined was the most efficient, as far as the eye could see in any direction. It didn't even seem that breezy out that day but aside from a few shut down for regular maintenance, they were all lazily spinning away. I figured the blades were made out of some lightweight aluminum alloy, but my bro says that the blades are hollow-core and made of balsam wood and fiberglass. Personally, I don't think we should stop installing these all around the country until we've got them everywhere outside of crowded urban areas. Wind, otherwise, is a completely unharvested and wasted energy resource. If you didn't take advantage of it the second that it was occuring, well.... :)
