I was curious who would respond, and how. When I posted about CNNs mistake - understandable IMO given how many hands have a role in putting together even the shortest snippet in a few minutes - many of the usual suspects posted critical comments or snark: AURAPTOR, JEWELSTAITEFAN (who, in an act of irony, called the location 'Honk Kong'), JONGSSTRAW and WHOZIT.

But when I posted about a similar mistake on FOX, they're strangely silent.

That's because the source, HHS , is clearly cited, and no one can believe THOSE numbers, regardless of which news channel they appear.

What?
What mistake? You are unfamiliar with the news? This was broadcast on numerous media outlets - if you are trying to claim you were able to avoid listening to actual news not sourced from the White House, I can understand that.
And where else do you think King Kong is located? He's on an Island in the mouth of the Amazon, right?

You want to hide the claim that after 6,000,000 claimed enrollments in 6 months (about 333,000 per day, or 454,000 per business day) the claim of over 1 million in one business day was obvious falsehood?

It was a "fictional" 1976 TV movie based on a true case.

From IMDB:

"The movie Sybil is based upon author Flora Rheta Schreiberthe's novel and fictionalized version of the life story of Shirley Ardell Mason, an American psychiatric patient, claimed to have suffered multiple personality disorder. The novel Sybil, was in it's turn based largely on the alleged actual accounts of psychiatric treatment that Shirley Ardell Mason underwent, documented by American psychiatrist Cornelia B. Wilbur."

Also interesting:

"Natalie Wood was the casting director's first choice for Sybil, but the screenwriter turned Wood down. The role was then offered to Audrey Hepburn, who declined. The project remained dormant until Joanne Woodward agreed to co-star."

Regardless of whether the story of the movie was "fictionalized" or "clearly phony", it doesn't diminish Sally's tour-de-force performance one iota. Both she and Joanne Woodward were outstanding in it, and the movie is incredibly powerful and riveting every time you watch it.

Real 'Sybil' Admits Multiple Personalities Were Fake

When Sybil first came out in 1973, not only did it shoot to the top of the best-seller lists — it manufactured a psychiatric phenomenon. The book was billed as the true story of a woman who suffered from multiple personality disorder. Within a few years of its publication, reported cases of multiple personality disorder — now known as dissociative identity disorder — leapt from fewer than 100 to thousands. But in a new book, Sybil Exposed, writer Debbie Nathan argues that most of the story is based on a lie.

Shirley Mason, the real Sybil, grew up in the Midwest in a strict Seventh-day Adventist family. As a young woman she was emotionally unstable, and she decided to seek psychiatric help. Mason became unusually attached to her psychiatrist, Dr. Connie Wilbur, and she knew that Wilbur had a special interest in multiple personality disorder.

In fact, the enrollment column needs to grow by 3 lines, while the goal column needs to shrink by 1.24 . Somehow, FOX accidentally misrepresented a difference of 1 million, and turned it into 4 milion.

Instead of showing enrollment to be 15% behind, FOX showed it to be 63% behind.

OOPS!

Obviously, only the top of the graph is shown, with each horizontal line equaling 200,000 signups.

Folks posting graphs often cut off the bottom if the difference isn't all that great, mostly for formatting reasons.

Here's a graph from the Washington Post of labor statistics. Note the lowest figure shows 11 million persons and the highest 18 million.

Does that somehow erase FOX's error? Does it change the FACT that no right whinger here lambasted FOX for its mistake they way they lambasted CNN? Do you have a point except to derail attention from the FACT that you were wrong, once again?

So, to recap -

@ right whingers find mistakes to be fuel for snark only when they're made by a source NOT FOX
@ right whingers can't even find obvious mistakes when made by FOX
@ when those mistakes are pointed out, right whingers like greezer either find excuses (that turn out to be wrong) or minimize the mistake, like little crappy
@ when caught in a mistake right whingers prefer to attack and derail, rather than admit it and learn from it

Geez, I kept looking at that and it never registered that the right column was labeled "goal" instead of "claimed enrollment" for 31 March! Obviously, the "goal" was only 7 million, and the chart shows 7,066,000 for the bar labeled "goal" - that's a good catch, but seems a bit picayune methinks. Of course, if the label is to stay, this means the bar would also need to change, for if the horizontal reference lines continue to represent 200,000 per, then the 7,000,000 would need to be dropped a smidge down to that 5th line above 6,000,000 (5 x 200,000 = 1,000,000 and 6,000,000 + 1,000,000 = 7,000,000).
But that is still extremely minor - or was your point supposed to be extremely petty?

Oh, wait. Now I see the rest of your post. You were just being thick, or delusional, or obstinent, or just incapable of reading bar graphs. Did you not notice the complete width of the graph did not span from the beginning of October, 6 months prior? Are you just obtuse, or working hard to appear that way? Did you fail math after first grade?

Will it make any difference that this week Obamination announced that over 310,000 were fake, fictitious enrollments which will need to be dropped, likely before September? This would make the 31 March real-world enrollment around 6,756,000 - which would be short of the "goal" which Obamination championed. Shirley he could not have considered intentionally fabricating enrollment, we know how that "I've destroyed Al-queda" worked out for Ambassador Stevens' bunghole.

Shirley this means they were wrong, because algore created Global Warming and the Internet?

Just because they were right, and had some weak-willed lawyer convince them to issue some mea culpa, does not discount the fact that they were still right.
Some years ago a literate employee of the City of Washington DC used the word niggardly in a report, I think it was budgetary or fiscal. Because the illiterate retarded African-American Councilwoman was too stupid to understand the English language, plus too lazy to reference a dictionary or thesaurus (likely far, far, far beyond her scope), she was offended. The employee might have apologized, but regardless was still correct and RIGHT, and the Libtard was WRONG. Yet, the employee lost their job and livelihood due to being literate amongst retards. Hence when FOX is RIGHT, CORRECT, ACCURATE in reporting, they still make apologies just to pacify the retards who criticize them.
Claiming that one was wrong when stating the Earth revolves around the Sun when no credible evidence supports anything but the Sun revolving around the Earth does not mean the statement was actually incorrect.
