Umm... OK

Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured... but not everyone must prove they are a citizen

I posted his AMA on this around here somewhere. It was pretty good.

Yeah, Europa is an interesting opportunity for us to investigate. The 6 miles of ice are somewhat daunting, but they say they are intending to look for some geysers to see if they can get any worthwhile information from the ocean underneath the surface.

It's actually not just Bill Nye proposing this, I can see why your reaction might be like that as you probably just think of him as a science educator and a guy who appeared on Dancing with the Stars.

But Bill Nye has also recently been elected as head of the Planetary Society, which was founded by Carl Sagan and is well respected in the space exploration field, and he is working with NASA on this particular project.

Europa eh? That's right out of Clarke's novel and Hyams' screenplay for "2010". The "monitor intelligence" warned us to attempt no landing on Europa. Saturn's moon Titan seems much more friendly, and we already have great pictures of the place courtesy of 2005's Cassini probe landing.

Ha, Bill Nye and the NASA crew working on it actually said some people contacted Arthur C. Clark asking permission to land on Europa when they started seriously considering it as an area of investigation.

I dig Bill Nye. My reply had more to do with why is this news, because HE proposes this, when it's not exactly a new idea, nor is it HIS idea.

And I've known of Bill Nye long before he was the Science Guy. Going back to when he was... SPEED WALKER!!

Yeah, but his tv show was cancelled quickly due to low ratings and the invasion of the Persians.
