Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

On Saturday, nearly 40 armed men, women, and children waited outside a Dallas, Texas area restaurant to protest a membership meeting for the state chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, a gun safety advocacy group formed in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

According to a spokeswoman for Moms Demand Action (MDA), the moms were inside the Blue Mesa Grill when members of Open Carry Texas (OCT) — an open carry advocacy group — “pull[ed] up in the parking lot and start[ed] getting guns out of their trunks.” The group then waited in the parking lot for the four MDA members to come out. The spokeswoman said that the restaurant manager did not want to call 911, for fear of “inciting a riot” and waited for the gun advocates to leave. The group moved to a nearby Hooters after approximately two hours.

According to Moms Demand Action Texas, the four women had invited a fifth person to attend their meeting. Instead of attending the meeting, however, the person showed up in the parking lot, with an assault rifle, some small children and this group of armed thugs.

Moms Demand Action Texas members took photos of the gunmen, who terrified patrons of the restaurant and passersby.

“Moms, restaurant employees and patrons were all shocked," One patron commented,” I grew up with guns, but no one would ever do this. This is like Deliverance.”

MDA later released a statement calling OCT “gun bullies” who “disagree[d] with our goal of changing America’s gun laws and policies to protect our children and families.” The statement added that the members and restaurant customers were “terrified by what appeared to be an armed ambush.” A member of OCT responded by tweeting, “I guess I’m a #gunbullies #Comeandtakeit.”

This is not the first time that gun advocates have rallied at MDA events. In March, a group of armed men crashed a MDA gun-control rally in Indianapolis. Other gun advocate groups will hold rallies this upcoming December 14th, the anniversary date of the Sandy Hook shooting.

The people in these pictures are the reason we need sane gun legislation in this country.

Apparently these assholes think that the second amendment gives them the right to do whatever they want with their guns. In their minds the second amendment was put in place to allow them to bully, frighten and intimidate other people, who are also exercising their right to assemble and their right to free speech.

The people in these pictures are the reason we need sane gun legislation in this country. It should not be legal for men with guns to gather outside a public building, with the intent of intimidating four mothers, from a citizen’s group like Moms Demand Action.

Nah, nothing wrong with our country, not a damned thing.

After the first sentence...... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....

If you don't like guns, get the hell out of Texas.

RESPECTFULLY, EDITED TO ADD:

Feel free to move to D.C. or perhaps to Chicago in a world PRE-Supreme-Court-Decision to ban the Chicago ban on hand-guns.

Ask Marion Barry how the gun ban worked for his cracked-ass in D.C.....

EDITED, AGAIN, TO ADD:

I know you don't think much of me here. I know a lot of my neighbors, but I have ZERO concept of what they think about me. I didn't notice a block party at all this year, but I was not invited regardless. Didn't go the last two years.(I DO actually have family things to do) Hope they still had it though....

Nobody robs our block. NOBODY.

I'm alone here and I work a bunch. Nobody has robbed my house when I was gone. Pretty much nobody knows anything about me. It's kinda nice. It's kinda like NEVER dating anyone you work with.

Yes. I'm strong. Yes. I own multiple guns. Yes. I don't trust anyone until a LONG time after observing their behavior.

You know FAR more about me than anybody on my block.

For all they know, I'm Dexter.

If by chance some bitch-ass broke into my house I hope they'd feel bad when there was nothing to steal to make a quick score for drugs. They'd have to bide their time on ebay to make it worth their while, and truthfully nobody who would steal shit around here either has an internet connection or has any concept of supply/demand.

If I were home though....

I wouldn't shoot them.

I have a hand-gun bigger than most of them have seen and could ever afford.

I've only got 8 rounds for it now....

All I need is one.

Our block is safe.

Between 2 families, 5 houses are occupied.

I'm the F'king wild-card at the end of the block. Friend to the friends of friendlies.

Ain't a god-dammend soul with a brain that would steal from my block.

No wife. No kids. No visitors save the 5-6 times I entertain......

I'm home more often than not, and with my bouts of insomnia I've had since my parents divorced when i was 5 I could be "up" at any time of day or night.

Gran Torino baby....

and I know you know that I'm not making empty promises....

What do I have to live for?

My barely more than minimum wage job?

My porn?

My lonliness?

My block doesn't even have a clue how good they have it.

Goddamned Black Knight up in here!

THAT'S the way to demonstrate responsible gun ownership, which is supposed to be used for self-defense: USE YOUR GUNS TO INTIMIDATE PEOPLE!

Yeppers, THAT'LL get the message across that gun ownership is for THE GOOD!

With all due respect, you're an asshole on this issue. You spend so much time whining and complaining about the gubmint, but you never leave the country. What are you waiting for? The door is open. Fly and be free!

That incident is totally ridiculous. You cannot intimidate people with guns. The police should have been called.

I believe my "Edited to Add" can answer you questions Signy.

Sorry it wasn't after your post. :(

And also, intimidation is a GREAT factor in curbing unwanted behavior.

YOU know if you've read my posts that I don't kill bugs and let them out of my house.

THEY don't know that :)

6IX, you're an alcoholic with a gun. 'Nuf said.

I far prefer Frem's deescalation approach. Nobody needs a loose cannon with a deathwish on their block.

Groups of armed men gathering to intimidate women with guns.

Is it Texas, or is it the Taliban? The only difference is the headgear.

"If you don't like it, leave."

6ixStringJack does not believe in fighting for change, it seems.

If you don't like California's liberalistic policies, leave.

If you don't like Illinois and their elected officials, get out.

If you don't like the way the nation's being run, adios. Don't let the screen door hit ya where the good Lord split ya.

America loves a winner!

To quote the Left's ancient icon of feminism, Hillary Clinton... " WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE ?? "

Four women, four men, advocating against the 2nd Amendment... I fail to see the significance here.

I mean, if true EQUALITY is what you want, and for us to see people as PEOPLE, and treat all the same, then these four aren't "women", at all in this matter, they're just four people. Period.

But we ALL know why it was four women, right ?

Because they CARE more ? Nope.

Because anyone who dared to show up, guns or not, and protest AGAINST their protest, would be viewed and painted as being " anti-women ".

It's a clever tactic of the Left. Claim we're all equal, but when anyone dares to counter what a WOMAN says, it's WAR ON WOMEN time.

( Unless the women are conservatives, then they're just all whores, bitches and sluts, right ? )

Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured... but not everyone must prove they are a citizen

Honestly I find this a wee bit more offensive than the rest.

These dumb shits need a talking to, they do, and no I ain't talkin bout the four girls.

Was that me, I would have approached them with open arms, empty hands, and then showed them how an unloaded, empty, weapon functions, while explaining that the problem isn't the tool in question, but the terrible misuse of it not only by those with ill intent, but also the clueless, while explaining my compromise position of requiring training as condition of sale.

If they disagreed, so be it, that is their right, as is mine to oppose it.
But damned if I would not have been civil about it - unless of course they started screaming fanatically at me about it and spouting well trained hypocrisy and lies, at which point I would have simply left cause at that point there's nothing to discuss.

But these assholes, yeah, they NEED a talkin-to, cause you never "win" a cause by being a bigger dick than those in opposition, no.

"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of
a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms,
shall not be infringed."

This forum has only discussed this issue about 500 times.

We're also guaranteed the right to assemble, peacefully.

Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America assembled peacefully
inside. Open Carry Texas assembled peacefully armed outside.

"the restaurant manager did not want to call 911, for fear of
'inciting a riot.'"

“Moms, restaurant employees and patrons were all shocked," One
patron commented,” I grew up with guns, but no one would ever do
this. This is like Deliverance.

If Open Carry Texas was there to intimidate, they did a good job.
They did show opposition to Moms in a very offensive way -- they
clearly chose to Offend instead of Discuss.

Whatever happened to Southern chivalry & honor? Simple. Some
folks have no use for it.
