Not so fast Mark Mattioli. Father of 6 year old victim James , believes more gun laws are NOT the answer.

He wasn't allowed to make the trip w/ the President on Air Force One.

( But Obama says it's not about him. Not about politics. )

No current gun laws, no bills in Congress, nor anything the anti 2nd Amendment types are suggesting would have had 1 iota of impact on stopping this crime.

And that's exactly what it was. Criminal. It's already against the law to murder little children. 7 bullet, 10 bullet, 15 bullet clips... all would have resulted in massive loss of life, regardless.

So, what's really the point here ?

Victim's families often become engaged in social and political issues that are relevant to the crime the victim suffered. Getting involved in a cause is a large part of the healing process for them, as if real healing could ever occur anyhow. Naturally politicians will use them as props for their own purposes, because if they had any decency they wouldn't be politicians.

I'd be curious to hear your current stance on guns and 2a. Last we dicussed it you were pretty solidly 2a. My own feelings have wavered back and forth a little on it.

I'd be genuinely interested to hear your current feelings on the matter, conflicted or otherwise, and the principle reasoning behind those.
