As something of a connoisseur of human folly, I became aware of this from xkcd and felt the need to share with you all.

transcript for Riona: "I have a new favourite edit war: 40,000 words of debate over whether to capitalize "into" in the movie title "Star Trek: Into Darkness," and still no consensus."

Kinda puts things into perspective.

(Also: made you look)

Hon, I don't think they're ever OUT of perspective. Nastiness and arguing is what the internet is best known for (aside from searching out answers, and that the internet is full of bullshit answers!). We all know it, some do it for the (strange) joy of just arguing or being nasty, others get caught up in how "important" a particular topic is, some take things on the internet very personally so have an investment in defending themselves or their points of view, and still others for some strange reason seem to need to "win" an argument. Part of it is the anonymity of the internet; one can be and say anything they want with no responsibility for their words.

You're not telling us anything we don't know--in fact just about everyone ON the internet knows. We often just forget it in the heat of debate/argument. There are many jokes about it, it's just the way it is. Perspective never hurts, you're right, but it doesn't do much good with many, either. ;o)

Tit for tat got us where we are today. If we want to be grownups, we need to resist the ugliness. If we each did, this would be a better reflection on Firefly and a more welcome place. I will try.

Ack! You're right, my hair IS silly! After letting it grow long for years and years, I got it chopped off...and I HATE it! How did you know? Are you looking over my shoulder? Can you see me through the screen? Ack!
