Yeah, it's more "dog stuff", but it's really beautiful and a Real World Event in that it's happening right now (Facebook page with pix and "diary" at http://www.facebook.com/Schoep.and.John

It's a beautiful story. I watched it race around the 'net, then it hit the networks. I love my dog, but I'm not sure I'm worthy of her.

Are any of us, really? Considering the unconditional love, inexhaustable patience and total acceptance dogs give us, I don't think I'm worthy of ANY of them!

Speaking of unconditional love...

I brought Miss Molly Meerkat-kitty back over this week, and she's in seventh heaven - she's got a whole place to herself, loads of toys and furniture and fancy beds, and she doesn't have to SHARE, so she is ecstatic.
Like randomly wandering in circles making happy noises, or so happified that her tail goes straight up vibrating so much she has to pick her back feet up and down to keep from falling over kinda happy.

No table food for her though, apparently she managed to wheedle a damn lot of goodies out of my ex and her new husband, cause she's gotten positively chunky!

Excellent! I would tell you to spoil her rotten, but I already know you are, so good on ya, and carry on!

Never apologize for posting stuff like that, Niki.

Never.

That's one lucky dog.

Don't think I apologized, Raptor--the caveat was because I posted a lot of stuff that day and I've been accused of "slathering" the board like PN does. I TRY to find stuff outside of politics that might interest people and "go another direction" when I can find them.

This one just got my heart in its grasp and squeezed--it was actually e-mailed to me by my husband from work; he was equally touched, as was our "roommate", Choey. I figure stories like that can NEVER be a waste to share.

Speaking of which, I can't resist "sharing" a new book that's out, called "Lost Souls: Found!", a compilation of stories of northern breeds.

The "preview" is at http://www.happytailsbooks.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/LSF_Northern
_Breeds_Preview.pdf
, and it's a heck of a preview, 40 pages of stories! I went there to read "our" stories--NORSLED (Northern California Sled Dog Rescue), which are on pages 24-28, and ended up reading the whole 40 pages (big type, so it's quick). Some wonderful stories in there...makes me badly want to rescue, or at least foster, but Jim would kill me. Wish I could, tho'...
