because "the President might say things that aren't true."

Oh, Gee!, Wow! Mitt would never do that!

Hey, it's a DEBATE!

One side says A is true. The other side says not-A is true. Then both sides present arguments, facts, and opinions that support their position. If one of those facts is not true, the opposition presents arguments, facts and opinions that prove it's not true.

Then somebody (judges, the audience, voters, history) decides who had the better arguments, who won, and what was really true in the long run.

That's how it works.

STORYMARK

Well, Mitt has shown lately that he wouldn't know a fact if it bit him in the ass, so I can understand his concern. How can you refute the other side, when you are already devoid of facts to argue with?

Note to anyone - Please pity the poor, poor wittle Rappyboy. He's feeling put upon lately, what with all those facts disagreeing with what he believes.

"Goram it kid, let's frak this thing and go home! Engage!"

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

NewOld...I WISH that's the way Presidential debates were! But I'm afraid, like infotainment, election debates of all kinds these days are more like "debatenment"...can't get bogged down in actual debating, you know, audience might change the channel!

Still and all, I hope SOME of the truth is forced out of them! Hey, I can hope...
