I don't know why they're "secretly" awesome (Buzzfeed has weird titles sometimes), but, yeah, a few of these are pretty cool.

My favorites:

Glass toaster - Really cool looking. The only major flaw is that the design in the image only toasts one at a time, but it's still just a concept so that could change.

Light Bites Candle Holders - No more licking frosting off candles.

Staircase drawers - Good for minimalist interior design, and especially useful in space-saving houses, like this one: http://www.home-designing.com/2010/08/space-saving-tiny-apartment-new-

Hamster Cage Shredder - I've been looking into getting a hamster someday, and this seems really convenient. My only worry is that it would really freak the little thing out. Aren't hamsters pretty skittish to begin with?

Dry Side Bench - Seemed genius at first, but what happens if both sides get wet?

The one I think is the silliest is probably the motorized ice cream cone. If you're too lazy to manually turn and lick (or for some reason can't, though I don't know how that's possible), just use a spoon or don't get a cone, sheesh.

I liked that one! Though I am lazy. And I'll have to try it and see that it works before I completely endorse it.
