Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Former Democratic Sen. Bob Kerrey on Wednesday officially announced his bid to recapture his old Senate seat in Nebraska.

"Doing things the conventional way has never been my strong suit," Kerrey said in a statement. "This afternoon, I will file to become a candidate for the United States Senate in Nebraska."

It's getting more and more interesting as time goes on...

Now HE's a TRUE maverick, as opposed to McCain. He'd be one of the cats it's hard to corral, but I respect him.

I always liked Bob Kerry. Only good Kerry ever to serve in the Senate.

Frankly I don't care if they agree or not. John Kerry was a hack in a haircut that nobody could stomach for President until he was covered in ketchup. Bob Kerry was a fella you could have an honost disagreement with.

I wont argue that he was an innefectual presidential candidate, Dubya's reelection proved that.

But the man has done some great things for his country in the senate, that cant be refuted regardless of your party.

I believe he has been called the Republican John Kerry. I don't think you can compare the two.

Kerry is a war hero who took his New England wealthy liberalism to a lifetime of public service.

Romney is a businessman who took his New England wealthy moderation to a lifetime of both business and political success.

While they may share a similar look there is a big difference between the traditional liberal and the traditional blue blood Republican moderates.

While everyone with the big (R) in their name wants to be compared to Reagan...Romney is more the Rockefeller/Gerald Ford type. Traditionally good businessment, mostly able managers, but with little vision or ability to inspire.

"...no pair has been more wrong, more loudly, more often, than the two senators from Massachusetts: Ted Kennedy and John Kerry."

Bush? No. Cheney? No. Romney? No.

Senator Zell Miller (D, Ga)...2004 Republican Convention Keynote Address. I note for the record he also gave the 1992 Keynote Address for the Democratic Convention and Bill Clinton.

Guess his good can be and has been refuted, regardless of party.

AURAPTOR

America loves a winner!

He once called Bill Clinton an "unusually good liar ".

He can't be so bad, I guess.
