If any of you think that Obama's gonna be a peaceful domestic building president from now on and his push towards developing US energy doesn't mean "we can go to war with Iran now," good luck with that.

I noticed that he's going to create an enforcement unit against "counterfeiting" and "online piracy" even though PIPA and SOPA are shelved, because hey, no congressional or public oversight. Yaaay.

Nothing quite like watching someone talk out both sides of their mouth.

I mean, really. He couldn't get most of these ideas through a democratically controlled congress, let alone a divided congress. But, repackage them and roll them out as new ideas. This is beyond weak. This is lack of leadership and I'm all out of ideas.

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

I never watch SOTUs because they are always predictably dog-and-pony shows, and the rebuttals even moreso. Looks like this one was about the same...I only tuned in long enough for him to get to the podium, and was rewarded by the hug with Giffords. She looked like she clung to him like a rock in a storm, bless her heart; it was the nicest thing about the speech to see, I'm sure.

In the recaps, I didn't hear anything about infrastructure, which saddened me, and I'm not thrilled about the increased oil production. But it was predictable, as was the rest. I have no expectations; nothing will get done this year 'cuz the Republicans have even more invested in obstructionism; I can only hope that their unfavorability this past year and the coming one may make them SLIGHTLY more willing to work toward...ach, some dreams aren't worth dreaming.
