Otherwise Titled An Entirely Sincere Discourse on the State of the Union of X National Thingawhasis.

I'm bored.

This is not so much a real world event, but a state of being, or perhaps a reflection of the universe in general. It's hard to tell when exactly the constant anxiety over national affairs turned into such antipathy and possible puerile jokes about the word "affairs," but here we are.

Perhaps on some level that anxiety is still here, like the prey must feel as the predator and the poorly metaphorized doom approaches. Or maybe this post conceals some manner of plea.

I don't know, as the will to fully analyze my motives here has been mostly sapped, except to say: "Goddamn, y'all, what is up in the hizzy here?"

That is all.

Well, look on the bright side, the more time they spend chewing on each other, the less they have to chew on you.

Also, freezy-pops are like, the nectar of the gods, seriously.

A laudable argument. However, countermeasures must still be deployed, inanity for serious business. My task is to be a jester. Gods help us all.

I always thought it was Mark Mothersbaugh who wrote "Whip It."

Turns out I was wrong, and Byte has it right.

And there are pretty much always Freez-Pops in the freezer at my house. I don't even eat them very often, but just feel like they should be there, just in case. :)

So much of 80s music was fun. Lots of the music was horrible, but even a lot of the bad stuff was still FUN!

Hell, they even made the Cold War danceable!

Oops...

Worse is that most of the time it's not even intentional!
I mean, like automatic X-factor just by involvement or presence (this is known in some circles of Callidity, or being Callidetic) to where just BEING THERE bends the lines of fate, something which has gotten me chased out of certain UofM goings-on for fear of mucking up the results - and specifically invited to one where they tested the impact of "just being present" and found that yes, especially regarding psychological tests, mere presence is enough to skew both responses and results.
This is a large part of why Yuriko believes I am Kami, mind you, and probably her most convincing (which ain't sayin much!) argument for it, or would be if they didn't repeat the same experiment with several rather successful casino gamblers and find that to a lesser degree, all shared the same effect, save that in their case statistical results were far more affected than psychological - it does make me wonder if perhaps "luck" itself is a definable ability, although someone proposing that is gonna need one hell of an argument on their research papers to avoid being laughed out of town...

Or I could just go with them when they present it.

Gets even weirder when you realize that luck can be measurable in quantum mechanics and that measurements impact both past and future events.

There's some odd stuff going on at the unseeable level in this crazy ol' world. At some point we'll all discover we're really just projections from individual RPG character sheets, or a giant computer game.
