Damn...I still can't edit. Grrrr.

To clarify the two quotes which look like they ran together:

The first block is the signatory section of the Fourth Geneva Convention, the next block is ABOUT The Inter-American Convention to Prevent and Punish Torture (IACPPT)...I copied it from Wikipedia and forgot to take out the NAME to put outside the quote. Duh.

Hope that makes sense. It's really a bitch that I can't go back and edit (especially because I get confused over getting "quote" and "/quote" right a lot and end up going back to fix it! Gotta ask about that.

Why can't you edit?

Are you maybe going between the "old" fff.net site and the new beta one? I've noticed that if I go from one to the other, I'm logged in on one, and not logged in on the other when I click over to it. So in that sense, I can't edit, but once I'm logged in, I can.

Do you have the "edit" option showing down by "Reply" and "Reply With Quote"? If not, I have to think you're not logged in properly, or are logged into the wrong site. Sounds crazy, I know, but I get notifications from both sites, and in no logical order that I can surmise, so I'm back and forth between them. The old site is still easiest for me to use, because I'm used to it and know where things are...

Mike, no, I've stayed on the beta version for some time now, so I log in there and stay there. I need to take the time to ask; what I get is a line reading "something went wrong, damned if I know what" or somesuch, so there has to be a glitch somewhere. Damned frustrating, I'll tell you, as I do a fair amount of editing for grammar, spelling, etc., aside from just getting screwed up on quotes. Grrr...argh.

Well, the World Court doesn't legally recognize the doctrine of "American Exceptionalism"...

And I'm not entirely joking when I say that's what the Bushies have against the World Court. All international bodies just need to write into their charters and rules that all the rules will apply equally to everybody, EXCEPT America, which doesn't have to obey any rules it doesn't want to. That's why they call it exceptionalism, right? Because we want to be the exception that proves the rule!

Damn, missed one: Yes, the "edit" feature shows up, but what I get is a title saying "Gorramit!!! Something went wrong" and beneath it "Something bad happened, but hell if I know what it is". Pffft.

Dang - sorry to hear that. I hoped it was something easy!

Might be a Windows thing - my Macs don't give me that issue at all. They have in the past, when Haken was hacking things around a bit, but the site hasn't done anything like that to me in a while now. (Knock wood, or some other useless superstition)
