I actually shed a tear.

RIP Elisabeth Sladen. Sarah Jane will always be my favourite companion.

Thanks, I took it myself. Okay, not really. The photographer has excellent source material to work from. I have to confess I went through over 200 pictures before selecting this one. Fortunately, after the first hundred I found a site by a totally obsessed fan: http://sjs-daily-pic.livejournal.com/

Elisabeth Sladen and Sarah Jane Smith will be missed by the world and the universe and probably some off dimensions and parallel histories.

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Well, I'm a relative newbie to Dr. Who, but already came to appreciate this particular character, so I'm really sad to hear this. Also because she wasn't that old.

I think it's time I started Netflixing the old Dr. Who's; better than what I'm watching lately to avoid the news, for sure, and I'd get to really discover her from the beginning. By the time I got Sci-Fi and BBCA channels, it was David Tenant's Dr. Who, and I will always believe he was the very best one (and yes, I've seen reruns of the first guy). I miss him terribly. But the companions are what give the shows the meat, in reality, and who I think most viewers identify with. When it comes to those, I think they've done a bang-up job, and she was great.

Alas you are now in for the heartbreak of falling in love with Sarah Jane. I suspect it's unavoidable. Tennant was great. I have to say he's up there with Tom Baker, I don't know which I would choose. I was a little disappointed that Christopher Eccleston didn't stay on longer as well. I haven't seen Matt Smith, or Sylvester McCoy.

The makers of the show were will aware of the Sarah Jane Smith effect, and deliberately made the next assistant as different as possible, and Louise Jameson is wonderful as Leela.

I know that Billie Piper has the intention of trying to be with the show intermittently forever the way Sarah was. It will be interesting to see that develop. I hope she sings. A Dr. Who Musical?

I know the feeling. Still looking for words.

I wonder if anything else is this much a part of me.
