Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Just for your amusement. Here's what my huskies would be doing right now if they could:

The storm door is open here in No. Ca., and we've been deluged for days (even including hail!); more yet to come for days. I'm not complaining, mind you, we badly need it, but housebound huskies aren't the most fun thing in the universe.

Kochak has been digging holes in the back yard, which of course fill with muddy water immediately. Which she then plays in, and the kitchen floor, when she comes back in, is indescribable. So yesterday she dug a TRENCH, about three feet long and a foot wide--I dunno how deep--which of course immediately filled with muddy water.

This morning I awoke to a totally mud-soaked dog leaping on my outback bed, followed by another. They'd both been playing/digging in the trench. I raced in the house, trying to grab them, but they went in before I could...the kitchen floor is a mudbath. I had to haul each one out to the front yard (in the rain) and hose them down on the lawn. So now they're semi-clean WET dogs.

Blocked off the back door so they can't go out, and will have to put on rain jacket to go UN-dig all the holes and especially the trench, then wash all my bedding, cursing them all the while. Too bad I was so pissed off I didn't take photos, you could have a second laugh.

Sigh...I love rain. I don't love the combination of huskies and rain! They belong in SNOW country!
