Yeah, which works, sure - but it still tastes like the bottom of a freakin sewer, yick!

I find it ironic there's been more than one instance in which Big Pharma has looted a practice, medicine or idea from so-called "primitives", patented it in their name, then turned round and tried to sue the very folk they stole it from.

As I recall it happened over guaifenesin, but I can't find anything online about it, meh.

Guaifenesin was originally taken from the Taino Awowak of Ayeti, or Haiti as we spell it today, but pronounce it the same, unless we call it Hate-E, because we're a pretty fucking ignorant nation.

Anyway, as a protective measure from being sued 500 years later, Columbus took the initiative to kill them all, after they had dutifully cured Europe's number one killer of the time: Pneumonia.
