So you DON'T address a Senator as "Senator"? Or you just don't do so when the Senator is a woman? Or a Democrat?

Or do you just not think she's a Senator at all? If she's a Senator, then it's technically correct to address her as "Senator".

Next time I run into John Cornyn, I'll just blurt out "Yo, Corny!" I'm sure he'll take it as a sign of respect. I'll make sure to never refer to Sarah Palin as "governor", either (because she isn't one, and never served a term as governor); I'll just yell, "Hey, Mizz Palin!" - because calling her "Mrs." might show undue respect to her husband. ;)
