This is the day when we, those of us who are Americans, celebrate our independence and honor the sacrifices that forefathers made to keep our country free from domination by foriegn powers. We wouldn't stand for a government thousands of miles away profiting from the land that we called home and telling us how to live.

We were willing to fight and die to repel the foreign soldiers from our country. We fought against rule imposed on us from abroad by rebelling any way we could. We disrupted commercial interests ala the Boston Tea Party and other acts of sedition.

We didn't have a standing army fit to challenge the greatest colonial power in the world, so we resorted to tactics that would even the odds. We took advantage of our familiarity with the terrain and the outmoded military doctrine of the British by engaging in guerrilla warfare.

Happy Fourth of July to all those who still believe in the true spirit of the independent!

STATIC

Our country is not perfect.

Our leadership is flawed.

Our ideals are, at times, questionable.

But I love this country. I love it and will always love it.

Men I love died nobly because they love this country as well.

For Dennis Jallah and countless others who gave their lives in defense of this land that I love, I raise my glass.

The definition of "Terrorist," "Freedom Fighter," "Sneaky Bastard," "Insurgent," - boy, those words are hard to define sometimes.
