0-60 in 3.9 seconds, *whozit giggles like a little girl* this car would be great for both work and play. But that would depend how far work is, it'll go about 150 miles between charges. I'm not to crazy about the wheels tho, they should be flashier.

As noted before, it WON'T go 0-60 in 3.9 seconds AND 150 miles between charges; it's an either/or thing. Yes, it WILL go fast, but not far - or it WILL go far, but not fast. That's the biggest issue right now.

But it's got promise.

Of course, it also costs more than $100,000, so it's not like you're going to be seeing many of them around anytime soon. For $65k, you can have its gas-powered relative, the Lotus Exige:

'Course, it's not exactly "common" here in the States, either...

Ya know, I haven't seen any racing leagues forming around the Tesla yet, but if they aren't forming or already in existence, you can bet your arse they will be soon. As I've said before, if it's got an engine or a motor, someone's going to race it. And then someone else is going to think they can beat it.

When you get racing teams and engineers involved, you'll be surprised how quickly the cars will be both quicker AND have a longer range. It will absolutely help drive the technology forward. Well, unless NASCAR gets their hands on them - then they'll be forced to dump in hoary old pushrod V8s with carburetors!

Hybrid and alt-fuel cars will get a lot more support once gearheads figure out that it's not just about being "green" or saving fuel (although that's a huge selling point for some demographics), but that the same technology can be used to give a serious performance boost. When Toyota decides to use their Prius drivetrain in something sporty, and recalibrates it so that the electric motor kicks in when you floor the accelerator (in addition to, not instead of, the gas engine), you'll see some rather eye-opening performance in a hybrid.

Personally, because I'm such a Honda geek, I'm hoping that the CR-Z gets there first...

Another PC car the hopefully won't be too PC.

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

Not dorky at all, PR - I chose that word for a specific reason! And I'm glad someone actually noticed.
