In order to understand the context, first, you gotta realize that I come from a strong gamer family.

Hell, my paternal gramma, rest her soul, played video games right up to her dying day, and it was side by side with her that I cut my teeth on Coleco Telstar, Channel F, and her Sears & Roebuck Atari 2600 - and till the very end, she could STILL whip your ass at COMBAT.

All of us play, every single one - my sister is the undisputed champion at Megamania, and her children challenge each other in duels over household chores, something which I've turned to my advantage by virtue of superior skill more than once, heh heh.

Kinda takes the sting out of doing the dishes knowing that you allllmost got out of it and damn near got one over your legendary uncle at Need for Speed: Most Wanted.

And imma collector besides, owning just about every home console system worth the mention save for a PS3, cause they want too much for it.

Sooooooo... with that in context, word has reached me today....

That fucker Jack Thompson and his goddamn idiotic crusade has come to a crashing halt, as the Florida Bar Association has finally realized he's fucking crusader nutcase abusing the legal system for personal vendetta and cut him loose for good.

Actually I wasn't all that impressed by the whole GTA series up till San Andreas - THAT impressed me, so sandbox it's almost a single player MMO, and the voice acting is so real, so believable, that it will just suck you in, GTA IV didn't meet the bar that SA raised though, you ask me.

Game designers as a whole are gettin lazy though, especially with EA crapping up the market by trying to buy out and ruin everything in sight.

Again, my sigline applies, crummy overpriced games did em hard in 1983, and that's gonna do em hard some more if they keep focusing on pretty graphics shoved by crummy code and depending on the user to buy enough hardware to force it to work.

Betrayal at Krondor and FF Tactics might not have earth shattering graphics, but if you bring enough GAME to the party, nobody cares...

Oh, and rubber-band AI sucks ass, pure laziness that, and unworthy of modern games.

EDIT: Wulf - I'd say that's for parents to decide, as it is their responsibility, me and sis had this discussion over the nephews desire to get GTA:SA as a xmas present that year, and I was against it as not being age-appropriate, but she made the call...

Her being the one who gets to explain certain things when he tries to get the casino key and whatnot.. *eyeroll*
