Yes, actually, I have heard that term. And I agree with you fully that serious complications can result from thoughtless heavy-handedness. What I support is any course of action that mitigates current and future threats (because mitigation is all we really can do. There is always someone out there who will hate us to the point of violent action, and there always will be, whether we enslave the world or turn into every nation's compliant little bitch). Like I said, whether it's done with a light touch or a heavy hand, I don't care what the required action is. Morality means nothing to me, except in how it can be used to further our ends.

What irritates me to no end is how our leaders always pander to all the pathetic, whining little moralists on both sides of the political spectrum, and end up fucking up whatever we set out to do because of it. This has been the growing trend with U.S. foreign policy. Unless the operation is kept secret from the public, all the little activist groups start shouting over one another to be heard, and the next thing you know, what should have been a simple, practical mission turns into a dozen petty little crusades that, when they're all pursued at once, turn out to be nearly impossible to pull off. And then we end up where we are now.

So no one was killed in the attack?

Their mission was to kill Karzai or another high ranking governmnet member. So yes, their mission failed.

You've HEARD. Is that opinion or substantiated fact? Please provide a link for this assertion.

Mohammad, a tenant farmer outside Kandahar City, spends nine hours a day filtering cannabis leaves and then kneading the residue into clumps of hashish.

He earns $30 a day — five times as much as he earns from harvesting wheat.

Is this opinion or fact? Please provide links to prove that Afghanistan is doing well.
