Should the Olympics be about the athletes or the politics?

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

The Olympics should never be about politics, it should be a bridge between countries and a chance for all of their athletes to shine. Some of them might never get another chance, so boycotting the games would be the wrong way to go. We made that mistake in 1980, we should not make it again.

Politics shouldn't influence it, but they do and have. Two countries at war, one will refuse to come because the other is there, or, both attend and some peace is made, or, one of the athletes loses an eye.

I've always thought it should be a moment for the persons within a country to shine, not a chance for their leaders to make fools of the country.

yea, boycotting the olympics is stupid, it won't accomplish anything, it's not about politics, it's about the world coming together

"Haha, mine is an evil laugh."

Agreed, boycotting them defeats their purpose.

Of course, so does cheating.
<-- Still angry about that.
