America loves a winner!

Few things annoy the hell out of me more as this sort of utter ignorance ( and waste of $$$ ). I feel sorry for the folks of Boone county, Kentucky, the entire state of Kentucky, the South, the U.S.A, ....ALL humanity.

For what it's worth, I apologize to everyone, everywhere.

Quote:

Apparently, Adam and Eve were not in Eden alone. They had friends, those friends were none other than dinosaurs. Tyrannosaurus to be exact, and contrary to popular belief, he was a strict vegetarian. Dinosaur's of every kind were aboard Noah's ark as well.

At least that's what the Creation Museum claims.

The museum, set to open in Boone County, Kentucky is being built by Answers in Genesis, a non-profit group and is scheduled to open on Memorial Day. Kentucky tourism officials are expecting it to bring in over 250,000 visitors in it's first year. Without being open yet, the museum is already drawing attention with visitors such as CNN and news broadcasters from Europe, Australia and Asia.

The Creation Museum, which is based on a literal interpretation of the Bible, has drawn criticism from modern scientists, which have taken to calling it "The Fred and Wilma Flintstone Museum" say the message they are spreading is just plain wrong.

Ken Ham Answers in Genesis's president and founder says this is a large event for Christians, because no one has ever built a place that merges science and religion, specifically Christianity. Eugene Scott however, a former University of Kentucky Anthropologists says the information isn't even "close to standard science". Scott visited the museum as part of the British Broadcasting Radio Corp. but didn't tour. She did however see enough to know the museum isn't professionally done. This worries her. She doesn't want students in classrooms telling teachers everything they are teaching them is wrong, just because this fancy museum tells them it is.

Daniel Phelps of the Kentucky Paleontological Society feel it will embarrass the state because of its stance that evolution is the path to ruin.

So what exactly will the museum contain? Well, there are about 80 life like dinosaurs, some with move their heads and tails. Over 50 videos will be shown at it's exhibits, and a special effects theater with shaking seats as guests are hit with spurts of water. What is the opening act? An animatronic young woman struggling with her belief in God as two angels, which cannot be seen are on screen behind her. This, according to Ham is the only part of the museum that is 'lighthearted' and 'edgy'.

It figures Kentucky would be the place for this. It's also the state with the highest per capita rate of court-mandated spousal restraining orders. I wonder if there is a connection?
