The title of this article alone should earn him a sharp punch in the nose.
Quote:

"What is also good is the Brit police tactics that we saw at work in the subway Friday morning. The tackle and kill team is incredible..."

"...[you've] got to admire the cojones of those Brit cops to go after him like that..."

Of course the fact that this guy, in Gibson's own words,
Quote:

"didn't have a bomb... and turns out he wasn't one of the four bombers...turns out ultimately that he had nothing to do with anything"
doesn't seem to be all that important to him. But those cops sure were brave when they shot that innocent guy in the head 5 times.

Gibson usually tries pretty hard to be controversial and make himself out like he's on the cutting edge of political thought. But this - this is downright cruel; a clear look at the conscience of a man whose disconnected himself from all reason and sensitivity for the sake of political chest beating.

I don't recall hearing any reports stating that the suspect was shot in the head 5 times. Or even if one of the shots struck him in the head. If you have a link, please post it.

The link to Gibson's article is at the top of my post.

Here's a link to another article that explains what happened to the poor guy -

Quote:

The man shot Friday at the Stockwell subway station was identified as Jean Charles de Menezes (search), 27, a Brazilian citizen. Witnesses said he was wearing a heavy padded coat when plainclothes police chased him into a subway car, pinned him to the ground and shot him five times in the head and torso in front of horrified passengers.

Praise for my country from that guy makes me feel dirty. I support the actions of the police officers, even though they killed an innocent man, but I wouldn't dream about bragging about how tough our enforcers are.

To think that Fox News is how a lot of Americans learn what is happening in the world (and by "world" I obviously mean America and things that directly relate to America). *shudder*

I would just caution against judging all of Fox News by this one guy. There's plenty of good information there as long as you are discriminating. The same goes for CNN, BBC, the networks, etc. They can put out some bad trash as well.

Regardless of what network it's on, there's no excuse for this article or this man.

It is unfortunate that people will use this as an excuse to ridicule Americans or Foxnews, but one loud mouth reporter doesn’t make Americans or Foxnews bad. I doubt many Americans agree with Gibson’s use of words. And I doubt many at Foxnews do either. In fact Bill O’Reilly, the target of most of the Left’s ridiculous crusade against Foxnews, has openly criticized Gibson.

That being said (and probably ignored) I found what Gibson said in terrible bad taste. The tasteless celebration of shooting a man five times in the head is unnecessary to express ones preference for a police force aggressive on terrorism. I don’t know what Gibson was thinking when he said that, but he should have used better judgment.

"He looked absolutely petrified and then he sort of tripped, but they were hotly pursuing him, [they] couldn't have been any more than two or three feet behind him at this time and he half tripped and was half pushed to the floor and the policeman nearest to me had the black automatic pistol in his left hand.

"He held it down to the guy and unloaded five shots into him.

I wouldn't lump the BBC in with all of them. The BBC is idependent, same can not be said of those other news sources.

This is a strange comment, considering that, by a literal definition, Fox News, CNN, etc. are independent (meaning they pay for themselves) and the BBC is a government owned and operated organization.

They should be lumped in with every other news organization becasue they are at least as likely to be biased or create trash journalism as anyone else.

I guess I'm just saying, get your information from as many sources as possible and think critically!

By Independent I mean those that pay for them have no say in what they report, this is protected by law, and proven by how often the BBC drags the British goverment through the mud. This is not true of corporate news.

I agree with that.
