I read this article and the first thing to pop in my head was, of course, Enders little shadow. It's amazing and scary how science tends to imitate art.

Don't squat with your spurs on.

I love this stuff. In college we had Science Fiction as an option for our English Lit. requirement. One of the things the professor pointed out was how science fiction often seemed to predict technolgical and scientific advancement.

My late father had Alzhiemer's Disease, for me studies like this hold out hope that someone down the road won't have to watch the deteoriation of a kind, intelligent, and wise role model that my family had to endure.

Making Bigger Brains

Over-expressing CPG-15 in rats gives them bigger brains; these enlarged brains have grooves and furrows like evolved mammalian brains with larger surface areas.

Okay, I know this is actually serious, but am I the only one to have visions of "Pinky and the Brain" from this?

Packer fans welcome.

I would think that some basic questions would be:

Just because the brain is bigger, does it really mean that we are smarter?

We currently only use a small portion of our brains. So, with a larger brain, will we still use the same amount of power or will our mental powers grow proportionally with the physical brain growth? Geometriclly? Expontially?

Some other questions have come and gone through my brain while writting this. But, I'm too tired to remember. Perhaps later.

Quite interesting none-the-less

One little question. If this can grow/re-grow brain tissue, would it be possible to heal a spinal-cord injury using this method?
