I'm just tired of it being decided for us that having an affair is some unforgivable sin for a politician.

I wouldn't be surprised if in reality 90% of those degenerates do it at some point in their career, and that at least half the time that's been used as blackmail material to get them to play ball.

Are people really that fucking dumb?

Let me ask you this... When is the last time that you ever remember reading some story about some random no-name politician, such as a little discussed US House Rep, or a higher profile state rep cheated on their wife and there being calls for that person to resign?

Have you EVER read that story?

I'm sure the cheating part is a story that happens every goddamed day by at least one politician if not a dozen or two.

But nobody ever asks for them to resign. It never gets reported on at all. And most of those political marriages are half a business relationship where those cards have all been on the table for a very long time. Everybody knows what they're getting out of the situation. And even if there isn't love, they're going to be discreet about what they're both doing while keeping up the public image and sending the kids to private school.

No...

You ONLY hear about politicians being unfaithful when somebody is weaponizing that against them, and usually only against people who's name most have heard of, or in this recent Maine debacle, new faces that are being talked about a lot during a campaign.

I think it's kind of why they went to rape all the time, because this just wasn't selling as much as it used to even with the general public.

But me?

It literally makes me fucking angry when I read stories like this.

Because I know that somebody is trying to play me.

And if they're not trying to take down a good person, they're still trying to take somebody down to serve their own needs, and using their infidelity as a cudgel after the blackmail failed to work, that person became a threat, or that person was no longer deemed useful.
