She done.

After she got into politics, all she had left was being the girl eternally singing about bad breakups. Now she's just some uber-rich lady, soon to be married to a rich straight white male, who hit the wall 5 years ago.

If she backed the other horse, she'd probably still have a career, but Democrats don't feel much like going to concerts these days.

Her only chance at a comeback album now is when they get divorced and she can sing about it to all the bitter Millennial, college educated, white liberal chicks who got divorced or were never married at all.

I don't know what my opinion on Leto is...

He's a very good looking dude, and he's one of those Paul Rudd types who doesn't seem to age very much. I've seen him lead in good movies like Mr. Nobody, and it was hilarious watching him get chopped down with an axe by Patrick Bateman on American Psycho. He's not a bad actor.

Is he still doing that weird cult leader thing? Maybe there's just an underlying hatred for the dude because in his free time when he's not making a movie he's playing his own version of Jesus Christ in some sort of weird sex cult where they all wear white robes.

That's quite a drop from Avatar 2...

ox-office

$134,100,226 opening domestic. Even though that fell very short of expectations at the time.

They might have gotten this one right though. $110 Million sounds about right to me. At least, in this article, they make it sound as if they've properly adjusted their trackers this time around and shouldn't be reaching for unreachable stars with their predictions.

I'm sure there will be more people who have dropped off and don't go out to rush and see the 3rd installment anyhow, but this has been a terrible year for Hollywood and outside of the China lie, there has only been one movie to even break $1 Billion so far in 2025.

To put 2025 further into perspective, the awful Disney live action Snow White that we were all laughing about before the snow melted from last winter is still at #23 on the Worldwide Box Office Top 100 movies, with only $205,679,463 gross worldwide.

https://www.the-numbers.com/box-office-records/worldwide/all-movies/cu
mulative/released-in-2025

And we've only had 9 movies (excluding the Chinese lie) that broke half a billion in 2025 too. Only half of those even made their budgets back. And we're still seeing major Marvel flops like Blacktain Anti-America and the Thunderbolts hanging on to 13th and 14th place too.

My guess is that A3 does not break $2 Billion this time, even though our money is worth quite a bit less than even 3 years ago. It will probably be close though.

Oh, and did you see how the proof came out that Deadpool and Wolverine actually cost between $500 and $600 Million to make, and not the $200 Million that Disney lied to its shareholders about?

https://www.the-numbers.com/movie/Deadpool-and-Wolverine-(2024)#tab=su
mmary

We all thought that movie banked Disney about $840 Million.

At $500 Million production budget, D&W only made Disney around $100 Million.

It lost Disney money at the box office if it actually cost $600 Million to produce.

But, at least according to Forbes, that isn't he case either...

https://www.forbes.com/sites/carolinereid/2025/11/27/deadpool--wolveri
ne-cost-half-a-billion-dollars-but-did-it-make-a-profit
/

It's all pretty murky, and I think intentionally so. Nobody talks about movies in terms of production, marketing and "other expenses" together like this. What are those other expenses? Well, obviously, production expenses. If it's not marketing, it's production at some level.

Here's what Google AI says:

Quote:

The reported total expenses for
Deadpool & Wolverine are around $580 million, which includes a production budget of $200 million and a marketing budget of $160 million, plus other costs. Some sources initially reported a lower budget, but the full cost, including production, marketing, and other expenses like residuals and distribution fees, adds up to this significantly higher figure.
Detailed breakdown of expenses

Production budget: $200 million
Marketing budget: $160 million
Other costs: Around $50 million for residuals, $40 million for overhead, and $130 million for participations (salaries, etc.)
Total reported expenses: Approximately $580 million

Well, there you go...

If Google AI isn't full of shit on this one, that's an additional $220 Billion you need to put in the Production Budget number. You don't get to create a magical 3rd bucket that doesn't get taken into account here. What the fuck is that? Hollywood accounting?????

$40 Million for "Overhead"? Obviously, Production Budget.

$130 million for participations (salaries, etc.)? Undeniably Production Budget.

$50 Million for "Residuals"? Don't even know what that means... The definition of the word is "a quantity remaining after other things have been subtracted or allowed for." Is this even a 4th bucket then? Get the fuck out of here, Disney. Production Budget

Total (Actual) Production Budget for D&W: $420 Million.

Breakeven Number: $1.05 BILLION

Actual Worldwide Gross: $1,338,071,348

Actual Profit for Disney: $258 Million.

That's a far fucking cry from $840 Million.

So the question now is how much money did Disney lose last year?

I didn't keep track really at all, so I honestly don't know. I just know that Disney has been known for their regular flops for several years right now, and D&W was one of their sole huge wins post-End Game.

And now we find out that it only made about 1/3rd of what they told is it made. I don't remember if Disney had any other movies that did well last year after D&W, but I do remember when it made all that money remarking about how at least it was covering all of other Disney's major losses up until that point while still having some profit left over.

So... remind me why Disney is still at $105 per share in November of 2025.

Saved them from what?

Avatar 3 cost $1 Billion to Produce. It took 17 days for it to make that back.

It won't even hit $2 Billion, let alone the $2.5 Billion it needs to break even.

This is a major loser for the studio.

They will NEVER make an Avatar 4. This series is finished.

It would be literally impossible to do now. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY is ever going to see a $1 Billion production budget for a movie again (at least in today's dollars... We might all be millionaires before I'm dead because of inflation... who knows...?)

There is zero chance they could ever bring the budget for Avatar movies down to the level they should be at without lowering the quality, and James Cameron would be unlikely to put his name and effort into it if he didn't have all the money in the world to play around with, so they wouldn't even have Cameron's name with whatever budget they can come up with.

I could see it being turned into a TV show one day where the story could be told the way Cameron initially envisioned it, but it would have to be pared down to something reasonable, with an entire fleshed-out story from now until the final scene, and people who cared would have to reconcile with the lower production values if they want to see the rest of the story on the screen.

Maybe $1 Billion more spent on a 12 episode show to speedrun the story that James was going to slow-play until 2040 in the theaters? They spent more than that on the Lord of the Rings trash show. Didn't Disney spend something stupid like $235 Million per Episode of Secret Invasion???

I don't know if even Netflix or Apple or Amazon have that kind of money to burn on gambling anymore in 2025 though.

That's a hilarious lie. The Budget for A2 was $400 Million. Up until yesterday, Bruce had $1 Billion as the production cost for A3. Now he too is showing only $400 Million for A3. The fix is in.

Okay, fine... I don't own any Disney stock, so I don't give a shit since I won't be losing any money here.

Let's go with the fake numbers now.

$400 Million. Needs $1.2 Billion to break even. Makes around $250 Million profit instead of losing $1.2 Billion.

A2 made $2,322,902,023 worldwide in 2022 on that same $400 Million budget, which would be a profit for Disney of $1.1 Billion (not including at least a bit of inflation that occurred in the previous 2 years).

A1 (all the way back 2009) made $2,923,706,026 off of only a $237 Million budget, back in a day long ago when you only need to make 2 times the budget to break even. Meaning that the first movie made roughly $2.65 BILLION, not adjusted to inflation, and more likely dangerously close to $5 FUCKING BILLION in today's dollars.

So from at least $4.4 Billion in profit...

Down to maybe $1.2 Billion profit... (-73% decrease in profit)

And finally settling at around $250 Million in profit for A3. (-79% decrease in profit)

*NOTE ALSO: As stated above, the 1st movie was only given the 2.0RoT Break Even multiplier. The 2nd and third both have the 2.5RoT multiplier applied, so the gap between the losses between 1&2 would be less and the gaps between 2 & 3 are even greater if you applied the same multiplier to all 3 movies).

They will not be making a 4th Avatar movie with that trajectory. Certainly not another 3+ hour epic that cost anywhere near what the 2nd movie did and the lie they're now telling about how little the 3rd movie did.

Looking at the drops between the previous two movies, my very early guess is that no matter what the budget was for a 4th movie, not only would the 4th not generate even $1 Billion, but would more likely be an $800 Million worldwide box office movie. (at today's dollars, not whatever year it would come out).

On a $400 Million budget, it's already lost money. And even if they're totally stupid over there and most of them have already convinced themselves of these new numbers, that still leaves them with these two unfortunate truths.

1. If a 4th Avatar movie were to come out and the best case scenario plays out, it's a hit and we make another $200 Million like we did on A3. Not the headlines we thought we'd be making on this franchise anymore, but we're happy with that. While on the flip-side, we could easily find ourselves following the trend of the previous movies if we don't do EVERYTHING RIGHT on the 5th movie, and end up losing ourselves nearly as much as we stand to gain if all the stars align.

2. Shit... We killed another golden goose.

Enjoy your false win here Disney, and moving around all that money to make it look to your investors like your fake version of reality is actual reality.

Especially when your Acolyte toys have gotten a markdown from $25/pc. to $0.49/pc.

It's a real lucky thing for you that Zootopia 2 swooped in to bail your asses out again this year, but I think at least one of you sane people left on that board, assuming there are at least one of you left, start asking yourself the question "How are we going to keep playing the shell game here when we run out of shells?".
