Quote:GM isn’t alone in pulling back on EV plans. Ford is moving workers from the plant that makes the electric F-150 Lightning to a nearby factory that makes the more popular—and profitable—gasoline-burning version. Nissan has decided not to offer its Ariya EV as a 2026 model and Honda has halted orders of the electric Acura ZDX, which is manufactured by GM.

Dreams of solar panels and wind farms are not the answers to anybody's climate problems when we have 8 Billion people on the planet and more of them are becoming modernized and industrialized every year. And it sounds like AI is going to take up more juice than 100 Million coal burning cars would have too, so I'll bet that the right people are finally talking about seriously doing Nuclear. I suspect that this is what the YIMBY movement is really about when you get to the bottom of it. Whenever they tell you something is for the people it's never for the people. Follow the money.

Actually, the Ford Lightning is my "Company Car", so it is not me who is paying, but if I were, the cost is $0.093/kWh. The contract says 100% Green Power. It is charging at the company, right this second, with the sun shining for free and the wind turning the turbines for free.

Quote:Originally posted by second: A brand-new study on the fortunes of Elon Musk’s Tesla shows, using careful empirical analysis, that Musk’s foray into far-right politics — and especially his role in the Trump administration — has cost his company enormously.
Quote:Tesla would have sold as many as 1.25 million more electric cars in the past three years had Musk behaved differently. This is equivalent to roughly 83 percent of Tesla’s actual sales during this period, meaning the company could have nearly doubled its sales had its CEO not alienated its heavily Democratic customer base. Partially, this is a story of individual liberal consumers making their own choices. But it’s also the story of an organized movement — the #TeslaTakedown boycotts and protests that began in response to the cruelty and lawlessness of Musk’s DOGE.
