I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

So, overall I think tariffs and protectionism are a good idea for America. I honestly don't care if the stock market drops 30, 40, 50% ... or more.

Bc the only time wealth inequality eased in the USA is when the stock market tumbled and the uber-wealthy became poorer.

If foreign nation refused to buy Treasuries, then we need to either (1) offer them at higher effective interest rates or (2) tighten our government spending so we don't need to borrow as much.

Where I see a danger is a liquidity crisis, like what happened in 2008. Only this time, it could be a sinking stock market that's the trigger, instead of real estate. Bets made on borrowed money suddenly get called. Speculators (I refuse to call them investors) have to suddenly liquidate. Corporate debt (bonds) don't get rolled over.
Speculators and borrowers are suddenly short of cash.

Needs more thought.

That's all above my paygrade.

I chose to put myself in a position where none of it matters and I don't have to think much about any of it.

Short of a situation where we're all fucked no matter what we do, I don't imagine any of this is really going to hit me. If inflation ends up being a real factor, that will, but that's going to hit everyone and give the Dying Democrats a way back to life, so I'm pretty sure they're thinking about that outcome when they're breaking the Establishment toys.

Meanwhile, with the moves made on energy I think gas and home electric/heating are going to drop pretty substantially and that should ease the prices of the things that Americans need to live.

That was the real problem with Joe Biden*'s inflation. He was killing all the poor people with his administration by allowing all the prices for goods and services that people need to exist get out of reach, and then allowing all the housing/rental costs balloon to insane amounts, pricing poor people out of even being able to rent and allowing speculators to buy up so many houses that the property taxes started killing everyone who owned a home. They spent the first 3 years of his presidency lying to us and pretending everything was fine, then they spent the last year of his Presidency promising "change" when you reelected Harris, while not doing a fucking thing to fix anything they broke.

They probably would have gotten away with most of that and been reelected too if they weren't burning your average American's wick at both ends by trying to force their Green bullshit on everyone at the same time.
