Sixty years ago today Soviet troops liberated Auschwitz. The anniversary has recently been officially designated as Holocaust Rememberence day in the U.K.
Please take a moment to remember the 6 million human beings that were killed on nothing more than the whim of a madman in order to follow a twisted ideal of Racial purity.

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

When the USA administration outlaws the death penalty, stops cluster-bombing hapless peasants, and guarantees open contraception for all women and health care for all people... then I'll start thinking about anti-abortion. You see, the current administration rather likes killing people. Until then, the only thing that crosses my mind is... hypocracy.

WOW.
This time I really am amazed. I knew that this thread would be hijacked but I did'nt think it would only take one posting to do it.

Sorry, I was led astray.

Many Germans, Poles, Hungarians, French etc. were complicit with the death-camp scheme. The frightening realization is how LITTLE it took for entire populations to accept the plan.

If the right to abortion is not strong enough to stand on its own, I suggest it should not be the law. I suggest further discussion...on another thread.

As for what the Nazis did. There are no words for it. Action was required then and no less so now, decades later. Those who seek to find the good in the world take this day to mourn the victims of evil. I suggest those who seek the evil take this day as a warning that someday, somehow, no matter how careful you are or powerful you become, in the end the liberators will come and history will judge.

Hero... not sure what you mean. Care to clarify in another thread?
