I guess you haven't noticed, but people use their one brain for everything: work, family, politics, finances. With a crazy brain, every part of their life is crazy. Most crazy people don't have much influence beyond the mental derangement they bequest to their children, but Musk has the money for rewiring people's minds together, building general purpose Artificial Intelligence, blocking astronomers' telescopes with his satellites, rockets crashing into houses, etc. There is no telling what crazy disaster this guy will finance because he lacks good sense.

Musk is not a Rockefeller. Musk can buy dozens of Rockefellers and little that Musk is interested in doing looks at all like benevolent philanthropy. Howard Hughes didn't cause a world-wide disaster because his money went into funding medical research for cures to cancer. Musk is the kind of nutty guy who would fund research into causing cancer, while falsely claiming that is the true path to a cure that people without Musk's brilliance have avoided because he has the vision they lack. In other words: super-villain territory. To avoid that fate, maybe Musk should hire a team of experts to give him a conscience and some self-restraint, which super-villains lack?

In the TV show, For All Mankind, three ships in 1992 are heading for Mars. Season 4 will be about what happens after they land. If mankind, which has been around for hundreds of thousands of years, had steel sooner rather than only in the last 2,500 years, mankind would already have reached past Mars and gone to the stars long, long ago.
