Quote:The other Baldwin guy has spoken out I take the other actor Adam Baldwin with a pinch of salt, he was a Neo-Con supporter before he did Firefly, did the Alien Invasion Independence Day 1996, starred in Full Metal Jacket as well as the television series and movie Firefly/Serenity and was in a recent tv show in The Last Ship. The loundmouth Adam Baldwin our Firefly Actor and no relation to those other Baldwin hollywood family However as hot-headed and Neo-Con as he was, sometimes I do believe he once in a while stumbles upon important stuff to say his thoughts https://twitter.com/AdamBaldwin/status/1452083940416647168 This weapon has a hair trigger when cocked. It never should have been cocked, let alone unchecked for barrel obstruction, aimed at crewmembers and squeezed. Negligent homicide. He also posted Theory: Producer/Star of movie is highly agitated about time/cost overruns on his film, to the point that key crewmembers protest about safety concerns but are snubbed by Producer/Star… so they walk off. Pressure builds, corners are cut to save time, e.g., pre-set “hot” guns… and 'If you’re pointing a weapon at anyone on set without permission from the armorer, director & 1st AD, then you should be reprimanded for the first offense, fired for the second. If you do so and harm/kill someone, you should be be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.' https://twitter.com/AdamBaldwin/status/1452028687956598785 He re-tweets Imagine it was Mel Gibson who negligently killed someone with a firearm on set. Would the media landscape be the same? Definitely not. He REPLIES Or Clint (which of course would never happen)?! maybe Adam went too far here with these comments? or did he??

Why no investigation? Why not institute a second pair of eyes? Why not fire or demote the armorer? Was this a case of rushing to stay on-schedule? Not ruffle the feelings of the daughter of an industry insider? What gives? There should never have been a "second time" after the "first time".

A number of crew members had taken prop guns from the New Mexico set of the indie Western — including the gun that killed Hutchins — to go “plinking,” a hobby in which people shoot at beer cans with live ammunition to pass the time, the insider said. The shooting happened just a few hours later. https://www.yahoo.com/now/rust-shooting-gun-killed-halyna-210815754.html The media needs to find out who those beer can shooting crew members are. Since the crew behaved like assholes, the media should ask them who they voted for. The only guys I know who shoot at beer cans AND are irresponsible are Trumptards. Nobody was out plinking beer cans with a prop gun before the incident.

This low-budget movie used real guns to save money.
Quote:Prop guns have been around for a long time. The film industry has been using prop guns of all types for many years. Blank guns were more common back-in-the-day but have been changed out for the replica mechanical or gas blowback airsoft types because of safety concerns. Feel free to get yourself one if you want to see one for yourself. They are generally cheaper and are not regulated the way normal firearms are. Just be careful where you take it. Most people will not realize that it is a prop gun and not a real gun. The police will not know either.

Looks like someone set up an incident to assassinate someone's career. he's a moron for pointing the gun directly at the camerawoman even if instructed to do so. the prop guy is probably an agent of baphomet, this happens way too often, and there's zero chance of getting live rounds onto a movie set accidentally. it's possible to kill someone with a blank, like that guy from what was the name of some tv show in the 1990s, my sister was a fan of the show, and the lead shot himself in the head with a blank as a joke. That said I don't think a blank can go through the heart of one person and wound the person behind them

I'm glad that the authorities aren't just dismissing this as an accident and are investigating a murder. Because somebody was murdered here. But like I said in my first post in the thread, Alec Baldwin wasn't the murderer. He was a tool just like that gun was. Maybe it didn't matter who it killed if all the murderer wanted to do was put Alec in this position. But if that bullet was intended for somebody specifically it ended up getting the wrong person. Who was that gun supposed to be pointed at next in the film? Why is that question still not being asked by anybody?

And the Safety Crew left the set (earlier in the day) in protest for the lack of safety. 3 prior gun safety incidences occurred ON THIS SET, THIS FILM. The weapon was left unattended during the lunch, right before it was given to Baldwin. I'm not ready to exonerate him for this accumulation of failures, or the final result.
