It pops up on the tablet in a new tab, which is Android based.

Not on my phone, and not on the main PC which is Linux and just shuts that stuff down without ever notifying us

When I login here, I get an unsecured login msg, or something to that effect.

It sounds like your tablet is relatively isolated from anything important you do(?) ... but what a strange notification.
