If you went by the fearmongers that keep shoving Italy in your face, 60.8 million Americans catching it "would" mean 8,925,000 deaths. We have no idea what the actual death rate is, because we have no idea how many people actually have it that aren't having any ill effects at all. It's hard to miss counting the dead people. Do Right, Be Right. :)

The belief that the sun orbited the earth was old too. Do Right, Be Right. :)It is as modern as March 2020 Scientific American: "While Shi’s team at the Chinese Academy of Sciences institute raced to uncover the identity and origin of the contagion, the mysterious disease spread like wildfire." How China’s “Bat Woman” Hunted Down Viruses from SARS to the New Coronavirus www.scientificamerican.com/article/how-chinas-bat-woman-hunted-down-viruses-from-sars-to-the-new-coronavirus1/ Wuhan-based virologist Shi Zhengli has identified dozens of deadly SARS-like viruses in bat caves, and she warns there are more out there. As a reminder to Trump lovers who saw nothing wrong with him cutting the budget to zero for investigating new diseases arising in other countries: Scientists have long warned that the rate of emergence of new infectious diseases is accelerating — especially in developing countries where high densities of people and animals increasingly mingle and move about. “It’s incredibly important to pinpoint the source of infection and the chain of cross-species transmission,” says disease ecologist Peter Daszak, president of EcoHealth Alliance, a New York City–based nonprofit research organization that collaborates with scientists, such as Shi, around the world to discover new viruses in wildlife. An equally important task, he adds, is hunting down other related pathogens — the “known unknowns” — in order to “prevent similar incidents from happening again,” which is a reference to Coronavirus. The only problem I see with COVID-19 is that it won't even put a dent in the real problem the world faces in the near future, which is severe overpopulation. There's a reason why these things keep popping up, buddy. We've been out of equilibrium with our environment for a long time now. One of these days, if we don't do ourselves in first, Mother Nature is going to get it right. I view a viral or bacterial outbreak that takes out a large portion of the world with no bias against any sex or color or religion as the most fair way of doing it. Sure beats genocide and the Chinese policy of only one child per household that sees the murder of tons of innocents every year. Politicize things all you want until the cows come home. But in the mean time I'm not going to have a single conversation with anybody about climate change or scarcity of resources who isn't willing to face the cold hard fact that there are just simply too many of us. Do Right, Be Right. :)
