Don't wait for me, Signym. If Trump had ADHD, are you thinking he deserves special sympathy for his mental condition and his inability to function in his job? I don't think ADHD is his problem, but if it was, the GOP Senators ought to kick Trump's ass out of the White House for not taking the drugs to control ADHD and replace him with Mike Pence. If Pence was sick, he would take his medicine rather than whine like Trump about not taking drugs.

You might not be aware of where your statements are going: Trump overthrows Congress in the best interests of America.

Now I will "deflect" (I actually think I'm getting to the heart of the matter) by quoting a FOX news story about the consequences of Trump's phone call with the President of Turkey, which happened only 10 days ago.

Officials are reviewing plans to evacuate up to 50 U.S. nuclear bombs that have long been stored at Incirlik Air Base in Turkey in the wake of Ankara's military offensive in northern Syria, according to a report.

The weapons are now essentially "hostage" to Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan, a senior official told The New York Times on Monday.

The Cold War-era B61 nuclear bombs are said to be 100-250 miles from the Syrian border, according to The Guardian. A former U.S. official told the outlet that Turkish diplomats responded to suggestions about moving the bombs by saying Turkey would start to develop its own.

www.foxnews.com/world/turkey-nuclear-bombs-hostage-syria

With one phone call, the ADHD President has turned Turkey into the next Iran, the next Muslim country with atomic bomb ambitions. That sure is a terrible disease Trump has, assuming he has it. Maybe he should start taking his medicine before he starts, in the best interests of America, overthrowing Congress. If he fails with Congress like he failed with Turkey, it could be an even bigger mess for him than the Turkey/Kurd War in Syria.

It was not ADHD that made Trump do it: In the span of about four minutes, President Donald Trump made at least six false statements on the unfolding crisis in Syria triggered by his decision last week to withdraw US troops.

Sitting alongside Italian President Sergio Mattarella in the Oval Office on Wednesday, the president spoke about issues ranging from the safety of US troops in Syria to Russia’s position on ISIS. The string of nonsense comments was either intentionally designed to mislead or, worse, a reflection of Trump’s own deep confusion over his Syria policy.

To hear Trump tell it, everything’s going just fine in Syria. So it’s worth taking each of his comments one by one, in order, to see just how untrue and dangerous they are.

ADHD doesn't necessarily mean you'll be a compulsive liar, either. It does tend to make them less able to sort out what is reality vs. fantasy, and as such, lie without understanding they are lying or meaning to... but the amount that Chump lies would have to mean dementia level inability to focus. Or, yanno, he's just a bloated entitled ignorant asshole. Maybe a wee bit of both

WHAT DIFFERENCE WOULD ANY OF IT MAKE???

Read Trump’s wild letter to Turkey’s Erdogan

This is one of the most astonishing letters in diplomatic history. It was not ADHD that caused Trump to write:

THE WHITE HOUSE
WASHINGTON
October 9, 2019

His Excellency
Recep Tayyip Erdogan
President of the Republic of Turkey
Ankara

Dear Mr. President:

Let's work out a good deal! You don't want to be responsible for slaughtering thousands of people, and I don't want to be responsible for destroying the Turkish economy — and I will. I've already given you a little sample with respect to Pastor Brunson.

I have worked hard to solve some of your problems. Don’t let the world down. You can make a great deal. General Mazloum is willing to negotiate with you, and he is willing to make concessions that they would never have made in the past. I am confidentially enclosing a copy of his letter to me, just received.

History will look upon you favorably if you get this done the right and humane way. It will look upon you forever as the devil if good things don't happen. Don't be a tough guy. Don't be a fool!

I will call you later.

Sincerely,
Donald Trump

The letter is dated October 9, which means it was written just three days after Trump ordered the withdrawal of US troops from northern Syria. The goal of the letter, it seems, was to convince Erdogan not to send his forces into Syria to attack the Kurds, who had been the American military’s strongest partner in the fight against ISIS. But, as we now know, Turkey did launch its offensive against the Kurds — on October 9.

The letter goes against every tenet of decorum and presidential communication. It’s brash, nasty, and lacking any diplomatic tact whatsoever. The letter shows that American foreign policy is firmly in Trump’s hands — and, like it or not, run by his own unvarnished words. But if Erdogan is upset about this whole thing, perhaps he and Trump can smooth it over on the phone. “I will call you later,” the commander in chief ends the letter. Too late. The war has started and ADHD is not to blame. This is pure Trump at work, doing the President job.

"I'll catch you on the flip flop, bro."

When I see this kind of behavior I wonder if anyone has a brief moment of feeling pity for him? He's sliding closer and closer to being the only president forcibly removed from office. And then going to prison. Sounds like the perfect end to this story.

I think Congress had amply demonstrated that it does not have America's interests at heart because it opposes policies that are directly beneficial to America.

The infrastructure is the easiest to explain.

It would require states and local agencies like the CTA to come up with at least 80 percent of the revenue in order to get, at most, a 20 percent federal match. For highways, that means the White House plan would completely flip the current 80-20 federal-state funding split. The deal stunk because the Federal government was not paying enough, therefore, no deal. The plan the administration released in February 2018 promised $1.5 trillion in infrastructure investments kickstarted by $200 billion in new federal spending.

trillion-infrastructure-plan

https://reason.com/2019/03/12/trumps-1-trillion-infrastructure-plan-is/

What about the deal in 2019? Same old thing. If the Federal government won't pay most of the cost, the bill won't pass. It is that simple, Signym.

I don't think it was Trump's ADHD at fault. It was Trump's MATH, his ARITHMETIC.

I understand that Dems didn't ike the infrastructure bill, but it would nonetheless represent 20% more funds for local use than what the localities currently have. Voting against it seems a case of nose-cutting and face-spiting.

And, what about MOAR WAR?

What about not securing our borders?

The infrastructure bill is dead because the Federal government puts up only $200 billion and the states supply $1,300 billion. The states don't have $1,300 billion. If the states accept this infrastructure bill dreamed up by Trump with his MATH impairment, they will NEVER be able to build anything because the states have to raise the money BEFORE the projects can start. The states can't just start the projects with the Federal government's $200 billion and hope for more money coming from who knows where. The bill does not allow the states to delay arranging their $1,300 billion financing. Worse, the states won't be able to negotiate for more than $200 billion from the Federal government, since they already accepted Trump's bad deal.

The "not securing our borders" is a little more complicated to explain. A story will help: I actually have 2,000 acres of cows which I'm turning into 2,000 acres of houses. My acres will be "America" in this story and my cows will be 20,000,000 "illegal aliens" who lived in America for many years. Finally, the stray cattle from the neighbor's property will be the 100,000 "illegal border crossers" trying to cross my fence into my pastures.

The first thing I do with my cows is load them on an 18 wheeler and send them to auction. I'm not rebuilding the fence around my pastures. If any strays cross into my property, they will also end up at auction. In this example, auction stands for "immigration court".

What Trump needs is more 18 wheelers and truck drivers to haul his cows to auction. He does not need more barbed wire fence. Apparently, Congress has no more fence to give Trump. If Trump can remove 4 million cows per year, it will take 5 years before he can start building houses on his former cow pastures. The funny part of Trump's plan is that he does not have, nor has he asked for, the resources to remove 4,000,000 cows per year. I think Trump has a MATH problem, not an ADHD problem.

Threatened a Whistleblower

Buying Greenland

Extorted Ukraine

Trump claimed the US has been allies with Italy since ancient Rome.

He called President Mattarella, "President Mozzarella" several times. Is it any wonder the Italian translator was looking at Trump like that??

He bashed NATO while praising Putin.

Either the president is trying to create a distraction or his impulsive policy with Turkey proves his lunacy rather than his ADHD.

So let me get this straight: President Trump ordered the removal of American troops from northern Syria, knowing that Turkey would invade, seize and occupy Kurd-occupied land.

But now, after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan did just that, killing Kurds who had been U.S. allies in the fight against the Islamic State, Trump is throwing a tariff tantrum and siccing sanctions on Turkey.

On Monday, Trump signed an executive order that raised tariffs on Turkish steel imports to 50% and halted negotiations on a $100 billion trade deal with the country.

If this weird little do-si-do with Erdogan was the result of sober consideration, then the president of the United States isn’t only a morally corrupt sycophant to murderous dictators, he’s bat-guano crazy. But you knew that.

There’s no point pretending that Trump didn’t know what Erdogan intended toward Syria. The two men spoke on the phone on Oct. 6, and Trump soon after ordered the withdrawal of American troops from northern Syria and, what do you know, Turkey invaded.

The State Department said Trump doesn’t support the incursion, which may or may not be true. In any case, saying you don’t support it doesn’t mean you didn’t deliberately create circumstances that made such an incursion possible.

How credulous must one be to accept that these events were coincidental?

But Trump is a wheeler-dealer. He wouldn’t cut such a deal without something in return. He already has two towers in Istanbul, so that’s probably not on his to-do list. What does Erdogan have that Trump wants?

It’s anyone’s guess at this point. But Trump has blood on his hands, which means America has blood on hers. Whatever motivated our moody president, the consequences were obvious. The immediate effects are well-known, but the longer-term ripple effects could plague the region, not to mention America’s standing in the world, for years to come.

Will Trump's ADHD prevent him from reacting appropriately to Turkey stealing 50 H-bombs? Who knows if he even has ADHD? Technically, we didn’t know that those 50 or so warheads were still at Incirlik until the Times report confirmed it this week.

As arms-control researcher Jeffrey Lewis put it last week: “Seriously, it’s time to take our fucking nuclear weapons out of Turkey.” That thought apparently also occurred to U.S. officials at the State Department and Department of Energy; sources tell The New York Times that since Erdogan’s onslaught against the Kurds began, those officials have been “reviewing plans” to get the bombs out of Incirlik. It should have happened much sooner — say, when a coup threatened to topple Erdogan’s government in 2016, or in the aftermath, as he drifted from the U.S.’s orbit — but removing a nuclear arsenal from Turkish soil is a necessary step in reducing a global danger. Alliances are built on closely shared interests and values, and—presidential phone calls notwithstanding — the U.S. and Turkey no longer have any.

I've had all the war I want back in Vietnam, the war that Trump refused to go to because of his "bone spurs", but I'm pretty sure Trump did vote for "MOAR WAR". Trump's Pentagon budget goes up 10% every year over the previous year. And he is also building low yield A-bombs, which are just the tools for a small, winnable war. I wonder where Trump plans to drop those W76-2's? Maybe he does not know because of his ADHD?

May I remind you that this jihadi-Syrian-Turkish-Saudi-Israeli-clusterfuck was created by OBAMA?

Let's start with the origins of this whole mess, shall we?

In 2011 Obama decided to destroy Libya. During western bombing, Saudi Arabia and Qatar were shipping arms by the dozens of planeloads-full to jihadists ("rebels") there, leading to the establishment of a semi-permanent jihadist presence in Libya, which exists to this day.

Once Libya was destroyed, Obama set his sights on Syria. He used the false flag gas attack in Ghouta 2013 as a pretext for militarily entering Syria. (Then, when Russian wrships steamed out of Sevastopol to position themselves awthwart the Syrian coast, he made a detour into Ukraine.) Arms were shipped (by the CIA) out of Libya thru Benghazi to Syrian "rebels".

I don't know if you recall, but at the beginning of our Syrian "intervention" there was something of a competition between the military and the CIA ... the military wanted to arm and train democracy-minded Syrian rebels, the CIA wanted to use jihadist proxies. To that end the military set up training camps in Jordan while the CIA set up a grand coalition with Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the 31 flavors of jihad. Turkey's role in Syria was somehwat like Russia's role in Donbas: a porous border with arms and militants flowing into Syria, wounded jihadists being treated in Turkey, and illegal oil convoys being laundered in Turkey (with Erdogan's son taking a big cut of the profits) and occasional Turkish troops filtering over the border. Erdogan's aim, apparently, was to munch off a part of Syria for himself.

As for Saudi Arabia, you may not recall but for a while in Raqqa (ISIS capital city) the jihadists were fighting hopped up on Saudi- supplied amphetamines and getting paid in Saudi riyals, so much so that the Raqqa currency was the riyal.

But I'm getting ahead of the story.

The military training camps in Jordan were a dismal failure. Many of those who were trained joined the ranks of the jihadists, and Obama went foreward with the grand coalition of jihadists and their supporters.

That's the reason why our "fight against terrorism" in Syria went so poorly ... we were supporting them on the one hand, saving their oil convoys from being blown to smithereens, providing political cover by insisting in the (mostly fictitious) story that our "allies" were freedom fighting "rebels" and not mostly jihadists and mercenaries, and filtering our arms into Syria via Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

So while we were "fighting" them on the one hand, we were supporting them on the other.

Somewhere along the way, Obama changed this grand alliance. He negotiated a deal with Iran (2015), turned towards the Kurds (pissing off Erdogan), and there was an attempted coup and assassination attempt againt Erdogan (2016). Nobody can prove who engineered this coup, but it was spearheaded by the Turkish air force (mostly trained in and by the USA) and it was Russia that saved Erdogan's bacon.

If anyone destroyed the USA's credibility in Syria and with Turkey, it was Obama.

Then the shit sandwich gets handed to Trump.

Trump, looking at this situation like an outsider, sees a clusterfuck that we have no business being in, and determines to withdraw our troops, essentially handing over territory back to Syria.

The Kurds have already made a deal with Assad, which they should have done back in 2014 when he offered them a federated state.

The Saudis have backed off of their active support of jihadists, not only in Syria but in the N Caucasus.

Now all that it left is to smooth over the situation with Turkey, if at all possible, because under Obama our relations with Turkey were seriously damaged, maybe irrevocably.

President-elect Donald Trump believes the the Obama administration has weakened the American military. He campaigned on a promise of greater security, particularly against terrorism; although the vast majority of military spending has nothing to do with anti-terrorism activities, that should translate into a whole lot of military spending, especially when coupled with the Reagan-legacy view of Trump’s party that defense spending is the most legitimate form of spending to stimulate the economy.

Maybe it is ADHD making Trump spend crazy amounts of money on war. But who knows, other than Trump's physician, if Trump even has ADHD?

Here is a fact for you. It is about Trump going to war:

What makes this particular nuke new is the fact that it carries a far smaller destructive payload than the thermonuclear monsters the Trident has been hosting for decades — not the equivalent of about 100 kilotons of TNT as previously, but of five kilotons. According to Stephen Young of the Union of Concerned Scientists, the W76-2 will yield “only” about one-third of the devastating power of the weapon that the Enola Gay, an American B-29 bomber, dropped on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. Yet that very shrinkage of the power to devastate is precisely what makes this nuclear weapon potentially the most dangerous ever manufactured. Fulfilling the Trump administration’s quest for nuclear-war-fighting “flexibility,” it isn’t designed as a deterrent against another country launching its nukes; it’s designed to be used. This is the weapon that could make the previously “unthinkable” thinkable.

www.thenation.com/article/mini-nukes-nuclear-weapons-trump-war/

Is it the fault of Trump's ADHD? Or is Trump simply stupid about nukes?
"A Critical Evaluation of the Trump Administration's Nuclear Weapons Policies"
www.armscontrol.org/events/2019-07/critical-evaluation-trump-administr
ations-nuclear-weapons-policies

Since taking office in January 2017, the Trump administration’s strategy has been marked by significant controversy. The administration has withdrawn from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, began high-stakes nuclear diplomacy with North Korea, proposed to develop new low-yield nuclear capabilities and is pressing forward on a $1.7 trillion plan to maintain and upgrade the U.S. nuclear arsenal, announced its intent to withdraw from the 1987 Intermediate Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty on August 2, and has yet to make a decision on whether to extend the 2010 New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (New START).

Is it Trump's ADHD? Or does Trump simply hate Obama?
"Why is New START in danger of expiring?"
https://carnegieendowment.org/2019/09/05/what-happens-if-last-nuclear-
arms-control-treaty-expires-pub-79782

The treaty is set to expire on February 5, 2021. The two countries could extend it by simple agreement. However, U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed hostility toward all agreements negotiated by the Obama administration, including New START.

Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon are dead. Obama might just as well be dead, he retired. But Trump is very alive and running his mouth without engaging his brain. What makes Trump speak? Is it Sociopathism? Narcissism? ADHD? Choose one. Or all three. Or pick your own preferred explanation. I'd go with Trump is stupid. There is even a story about stupidity: "Trump’s Wild Wednesday"

It would not have been a bad thing if JFK's Addison's disease had disqualified him from being President. Trump's untreated ADHD should disqualify him to be President. He could have stayed a TV host on a game show.

As reminder that JFK was a bad President: Reached through sober analysis, Stern’s conclusion that “John F. Kennedy and his administration, without question, bore a substantial share of the responsibility for the onset of the Cuban missile crisis” would have shocked the American people in 1962, for the simple reason that Kennedy’s administration had misled them about the military imbalance between the superpowers and had concealed its campaign of threats, assassination plots, and sabotage designed to overthrow the government in Cuba — an effort well known to Soviet and Cuban officials.

Signym, do you remember this story? I do because Nixon was very pro-Vietnam War and McGovern was very much against the Vietnam War:
Quote:

On July 25, 1972, just over two weeks after the 1972 Democratic Convention, Eagleton admitted the truth of news reports that he had received electroshock therapy for clinical depression during the 1960s. McGovern initially said he would back Eagleton "1000 percent". Subsequently, McGovern consulted confidentially with preeminent psychiatrists, including Eagleton's own doctors, who advised him that a recurrence of Eagleton's depression was possible and could endanger the country should Eagleton become president.

I would say that many American voters really hate Presidents who have something provably wrong with their brains.

When Kennedy was alive, he would NOT have been elected President if American voters had known what was wrong with him. One of his many bad decisions caused the Cuban Missile Crisis, which almost got millions killed. Another bad one, when he disregarded the Secret Service's recommendation, got him killed in Dallas. Signym, you were the one who suggested Kennedy's Addison's Disease addled his brain.

It is too late to do anything about Kennedy, since he is not in the White House, but it is NOT too late to kick Trump out of office for ADHD, which he is refusing to have treated because he does not do drugs, as 1kiki argued.

And yet, despite Kennedy's missteps he is remembered as a great President, and one whose Addison's disease and apparent sex addiction did not detract from his Presidency. while Jimmy Carter - despite his sound mind, technical education, and moral character is remembered as a so-so President. Reagan, despite his loose hold on reality proposed a breakthrough nuclear arms reduction. Clinton, of sound mind, was a slimeball who forwarded the interests of the "free trade" transnational elites and made possible the crash of 2008 by changing financial regulations.

There is Steve Jobs, who was apparently not only compluslive but also a narcissist, and Bill Gates who seems to be somewhere on "the spectrum". Elon Musk, who's needle is stuck on "mania".

The point is it's not a problem until it's a problem, and in order to see if it's a problem you have to see what a person does. (Not what a person tweets.)

Withdrawing our troops from Syria ... good or bad?
Securing our border - Good or bad?
Withdrawing from free trade agreements: good or bad?
Spending on infrastructure - good or bad?

Instead of twisting your brain around into knots trying to justify your implacable grotch against the party of Nixon (But he's dead so he doesn't count, remember?) look at the effect of Trump's policies and judge whether they're good or bad, and stop paying attention to the shit that the M$M shovels ... it's baseless and pointless ... and your own analysis. All that you have said convinces me that the average American has far below average judgment. I'm pretty sure even the dumbest American would have understood that Kennedy's Cuban Missile Crisis could have killed them if Vasily Arkhipov had not saved them from Kennedy's stupidity. But most Americans don't even know Arkhipov ever lived and they think Kennedy was great. It was Arkhipov who was great, not Kennedy, the rich playboy/idiot whose dumb luck ran out in Dallas. And what about the OTHER examples that I provided? People who used their sound mind and laser focus for evil purposes? People whose sound mind led to mediocre results? People whose behavior *three standard deviations from the norm led to wild success?

Among them you will note I included Elon Musk, whose mania (or whatever it is) served as both the springboard/inspiration for his extremely successful business AND as its apparent downfall. (I already posted about that: Is Elon Musk nuts?) so it's not like I'm always coming down on the side of "inspired genius/mad scientist".

What about THOSE cases? And where does TRUMP fit into this picture so far? You're just deflecting. I assume you will continue to deflect, so I'm going to repeat the logic of this discussion simply to point up your delfections and internal contradictions:

People (such as yourself) have claimed that Trump is a "sociopath" and a "narcissist" in order to cast doubt on his motives; the idea being that he only cares about himself and is willing to grind the entire nation down in order to ... ??? feed his ego? Add to his holdings? Because it's fun? (I will add that you've also accused Trump of being a "racist" and a "Putin puppet" with the same intent on impugning his motives.)

In order to properly assess Trump's motives, you have to analyze his ACTIONS and hopefully infer his goals. Are they good for the nation, or bad? If you're going to do that kind of analysis on Trump, why not address Congress' motives/actions as well? (Unless of course you're completely biased. Are you?)

When I looked at Trump's behavior, everything is best explained by ADHD. ADHD isn't a "motive" problem, it's a processing problem. It doesn't take away from anyone's good intentions or empathy or even their intelligence, but it DOES affect their focus and capability. Also, people with ADHD tend to "motor mouth" ... I think of Trump's tweets as motormouthing and I don't even pay attention to them unless the M$M keeps shoving them in my face. I'm more interested in the RESULTS of his actions.

So this is where analysis comes in: You first have to separate the informational wheat from the chaff, which you will never do if you keep on deflecting and twisting your brain around to bolster your permanent grotch.

Yeah, results
Like pissing off millions of Latinos so that they come here in droves and caravans. That worked GREAT.

Like defending religious rights at the expense of BASIC HUMAN rights? Didn't you say you were a HUMANIST once?? I guess they're only human when they screw who YOU say they can??

Like encouraging the terrorism by the far right by calling them "great people". All those shootings and manifestos are a GREAT RESULT.

Getting Kurds killed is a nice result, too. 22 million of those "brown people" over there. Getting white phosphorous and napalm dropped on kids, that's good??

Then there's the hundreds of environmental mandates Herr Shit-For-Brains has recalled. Pollution for the sake of capitalism Supporting him makes EVERY statement you've ever made about Capitalism into COMPLETE AND UTTER HYPOCRISY

I haven't got time to play your goddamn games, you gabby old fool. Why not try to deflect this about Trump? Trump will host the G-7 at Trump Doral. As Walter Schaub puts it:

There is no level of corruption greater than a President participating in the award of a contract to himself. We have reached the bottom. If the Senate will not act to stop this, there is no government ethics program. It's over.

The G-7 decision is a rivetingly clear example of Trump flagrantly abusing his authority to shovel more money into his own pockets.

What the hell is going on inside of Trump's head that he thinks transferring millions of dollars in Federal money to his golf resort is ethical? Is he a sociopath? Is he a narcissist? Is he just a stupidly unethical crook? I already know your answer and it is a load of verbosity:

I think of Trump's tweets as motormouthing and I don't even pay attention to them unless the M$M keeps shoving them in my face. I'm more interested in the RESULTS of his actions.

REALLY???

How about ... spending a trillion dollars and killing a million people in a pointless war?

Or what about ... throwing trillions of dollars at banks while putting victims of fraudulent loans out on the street?

That's just faux outrage on your part. Obviously you lack (a)imagination (b)knowledge of recent history and (c)a sense of proportion.

We haven't had as many migrants coming here for almost 20 YEARS. You really think it's sheer coincidence we get a prez that calls them all rapists and starts chanting about walls and how they will never be able to get in again and they then immediately start running here in caravans??

HE CAUSED IT BY BEING A BLOWHARD. DUH.

It doesn't have anything to do with the fact that we give free shit to them. Nah.

Seriously, moron, you live right here with him and the only thing you can do about it is get your fat ass off the couch long enough to post negative shit about the guy online.

Ain't nobody traveling thousands of miles on foot with their kids in tow because Trump dissed them.

That's just faux outrage on your part. Obviously you lack (a)imagination (b)knowledge of recent history and (c)a sense of proportion.

In the view of FOX News, in the opinion of Trump lovers, Trump completely inoculated himself against accusations of corruptly awarding a Federal contract to himself (G7 meeting next year at Trump Doral in Miami) by saying he won't make a profit. But in reality, saying the empty words about profit will change nothing. Even if Trump had ADHD, that changes nothing.

Hopefully there will be enough complaints from Republican Senators so that the the 2020 G7 meeting is not held at a Trump Resort, but Trump's biographers will remember how Trump attempted to steal money from the US Treasury and then launder that money at Trump Doral. Trump lovers won't remember or can't understand. Maybe they are the ones with ADHD?
