Yeah... It's kind of weird to watch it.

It's almost like they live in a parallel universe over there where the feminist revolution never even started and they skipped right to the technological age. It's insane that women there only got the right to drive a car in the last few years... and I'm betting that they don't even have that right in most of the countries still.

If they ever start up a Middle Eastern race car league, the first female driver will be Alexa or Siri.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Well, it's a little like religious fundamentalists here flipping a light switch. They don't mind using all of those electrons, generated at a far-distant place using the properties of electricity and magnetism, carried to them over long distances by wires (metallurgy) and converted to useable voltage by transformers (more electromagetism), and producing light by one of several possible technologies, all having been based on research into the conversion of electricity to light ... NOPE! They don't mind using it at all! But they totally reject the principles of science on which the light switch is based.

Kinda like they want the latest antibiotic which overcomes the (evolutionary development of) resistance genes, but reject the concept of evolution.

All just demonstrating that people can hold completely contradictory ideas in their heads which will never meet up and say "hello" and resolve those differences!

Have you ever seen the film Expelled! with Ben Stein?

No, never saw it.

I did skip thru it and listened here and there, and it seems to be trying to make a case for "intelligent design" as being a "scientific" approach ... in other words, where we have no direct evidence for something (say, the origin of life) the we're free to consider ALL possibilities ... even the possibility that "God done it"... because that's "scientific".

Unfortunately, science doesn't work that way, and scientists often don't know the philosophical basis for science, which rests on a few key assumptions which preclude the concept of a "super"natural (above nature) intervention.

Science rests on the ability to OBSERVE phenomena. Also, science rests on the consistency of cause and effect. If God decided on a whim to stick his finger into a bunch of scientific observations, it would make hash of everything that science rests on.

Didn't see much beyond that, but the part that I saw expressed a deeply flawed understanding of the basis of science.
