... stay crunchy...

Not posting on General or Other Science Fiction series boards because those are starting to get over run with Reavers...

****Spoiler Alert!****

Sadly, the trend is to produce trailers that show a super condensed version of the ENTIRE film just to get you to buy a ticket. This leads to being inevitably disappointed because you feel you've already seen the movie that you just paid to watch. So pass on this trailer if you want to see the film fresh.

Of course, I watched the trailer. My first reactions were: It's gorgeous but so contrived and too Disney. Is there some reason no one wants to, or is able to, make an actual adult Star Wars movie apart from greed?

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

My guess is- It's hard to write a convincing script that will pass muster with adults. Yous said it yourself: It was contrived. Plus, people over the age of 30 don't buy stuff just because of adverts, they tend to be a little stingier with their $$.

Hmm, after all that, I guess you're right: It boils down to greed.

Stick a fork in it. Star Wars is dead. Disney killed it.

Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

I liked Chewbacca, but not enough to see the movie.

And I could hardly watch the trailer. I can't imagine sitting through the movie. I think of the young'uns going oh, SNAP! at every line in the dialogue. It looks like that's what it was written for.

So anyway ... anyone up for a rational, fact-based, and civil discussion about the topic?
