At a news conference early Sunday morning, Chief Rod Knecht said police have a 30-year-old man in custody and they think he acted alone. But Knecht stressed it is early in the investigation and they aren't ruling out that others were involved.

Knecht said the car rammed through a barricade, throwing an officer about five metres into the air, then crashed into a police cruiser.

The driver hopped out and began "viciously" stabbing the officer with a knife before running away, Knecht said.

A manhunt was launched as the officer was taken to hospital and treated for non life-threatening injuries.

Knecht said the Islamic State flag was found in the front seat of the car.

A few hours later, while fans filed out of the game and were re-routed around the crime scene, a U-Haul cube van was stopped at a checkstop north of downtown.

They're going to need to do better than say a Islam flag was found in the front seat. Anybody could have put that there. Also, they might not have even gotten the right U-Haul van and stopped looking once they found some random dude with an Islamic flag in the front seat.

I bet they know more, but the reporting is shoddy work so far. Big Brother is certainly watching everywhere in Edmonton. If somebody really wants to find that guy, they'll find him. He was probably on camera no less than 300 times on the day of the incident.

I get what you guys are saying, and this day and age it's almost certain without even looking into it that it was a Muslim who did something like this, but let's try to maintain our objectivity here.

We barely know anything about the story here outside of the fact that an Islamic flag was found on the seat of the car they got their suspect in.

I think the chances are about 99.99% that it was a Muslim attack. There could be a lot of reasons for that other .01% though, and YES, actually... it could have even been a NAZI loving Trump supporter.

I don't buy all of the bullshit about Trump when the MSM brings up all of the little "Islamic Flag" equivalents nearly every day when it comes to him. I'm not about to just make up my mind on this issue without more evidence either.

Shit... part of me wonders if it's a real story even, or if they're just baiting people so they can call them racists after they come out and say the whole thing was made up.

Thank you for showing that video Rap. I'm glad that there are people following up on the story.

I do not regret my skepticism of the story before, even though it turned out to be pretty much exactly what everybody expected it to be.

You're absolutely right though. In a world where everyone is desensitized to violence through the bullshit they have in movies today, we still can't show a video like this to the general public on the MSM because it was a black Muslim and that doesn't fit their agenda.

Disgusting.
