I wonder how many places are repeating the phenomenon of Obama in 2012, where many Democrats were absent from his campaign appearances.

Candidate for President Donald Trump, who has claimed to be a Republican for more than a couple of months, has scheduled a Town Hall meeting along with his Veep running mate in Green Bay, WI on Friday, 5 August.
Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, a Republican and recent candidate for the nomination for President, plans to be in a different part of the state on that day - and not anywhere near the State Capitol.
Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson, Republican who is up for election this year and falling behind 3-term Senator Russ Feingold (who he defeated 6 years ago), is also scheduled to be somewhere else in the state on this date, and unable to attend the Trump event.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives of The United States of America (3rd in line for Presidential Succession and currently highest ranking elected Republican) Paul Ryan, Republican Representative for Wisconsin's First District (2 hours away from Green Bay), is also planning to be elsewhere in the state, and unable to attend.
Green Bay is in about the middle of the 8th Congressional District of Wisconsin.
Reid Ribble, Republican and current Representative for WI's 8th District is also planning to be elsewhere in the state and unable to attend.
Mike Gallagher (native of Green Bay), 1 of 3 Republican candidates for the 8th District seat this fall, is also planning to be elsewhere in the state and unable to attend.
Terry McNulty (residing about 40 minutes from the event), another of the 3 Republican candidates for the 8th District seat, is also planning to be elsewhere in the state and unable to attend.
Frank Lassee, the third Republican candidate for the 8th seat, and in deep trouble on a frequent basis, states that he will be present with Trump.

Apparently a total of 15 Local Republicans were contacted, and only 1 stated he would be present.

Terry McNulty was offered, on the day of the event, VIP seating, and accepted.

Others unable to avoid Trump were participants in the Tall Ship Festival, being also on the same River as the KI CEnter where Trump was.

Also forgot to mention that Riance Preibus, Wisconsinite and former Wisconsin Republican Chairman, was unable to make it to Trump's event.
Riance, Ryan, Johnson, and others were able to make it to the sparsely attended Pence event last week in Waukesha.

For the purposes of historical reflection, I am posting the following observations.

The OP was after noon on Thursday, 4 August.
By Monday the view total was over 500, IIRC. I posted the update that night after not being able to on Saturday. This was over 500 viewings in about 4 days.

Currently there are over 930 views stated at he top of this thread. This is 6 days after the original post. And more than 400 more viewings since the post on Monday, 2 days ago.

There are no replies in this thread. I can conjure I contributed less than a dozen views due to editing, correcting the posts.

Due to the current traffic level of FFF.net, I am assuming that this thread has been posted elsewhere and is getting clicky links to here, to account for the view totals.
I wonder if that helps out the traffic counters for the site here, or for advertising.
I do not know why this thread would be of popular interest, since the info is not really any secret, it is available via interwebs news.

I have had posts with (IIRC) almost 40,000 views, and definitely 13,000 views. But those were threads about the Timeline of Firefly, and discussion, and also about The Map of The Verse and Travel & Navigation about The Verse. There were also replies and discussion in those threads, but they also grew due to being reference material for Fic writers, thus regularly viewed. So this thread is different than those.

I am wondering, in your opinion how much do you differentiate between "belief" and "suspension of disbelief" or even "denial"?
I am tempted to allocate "belief" to the realm of religion, while logical difficulties seem to push into the spectrum of "suspension of disbelief."

Wisconsin held it's Primary Election this past Tuesday, 9 August.
Of the 3 Republicans running for 8th Congressional District to replace retiring Republican Reid Ribble, McNulty and Lassee attended Trump's appearance, and Gallagher did not. Lassee has been tying to win various elected offices for over 20 years, and claims to be a Republican.

Gallagher beat the other 2 with over 74% of the vote.

Back on topic, I could mention that the event was a departure from the prior plan.

Trump seemed to have been copying the Plan To Fail which Romney executed.
For the primaries, Romney wanted the most votes, no matter who he alienated in the Republican party. So he campaigned almost exclusively in large cities, which did have a large concentration of voters, but also were known to vote Democrat come November. He did this nationwide, not sure if there were exceptions.
In Wisconsin specifically, he did not campaign north of Highway 10. This meant that he campaigned in Milwaukee and Madison media markets, both chock full and overflowing Libtards. The southeast corner of the state, which includes Milwaukee, has about 60% of the state's population. And Madison is the state's second largest population center. Most areas of the state voted against Romney, but he got enough liberals in the Democrat zones to vote for him that he won the primaries across the nation and became the nominee.
Trump copied this plan for his primaries as well. Green Bay is north of Hwy 10 and Trump did not visit or campaign, and he lost to Cruz in the Wisconsin Primary.

For the general election, Romney did about the same, and in Wisconsin he campaigned to the liberals in the large Democrat strongholds, and avoided talking to or visiting the conservatives of the state. The liberals didn't vote for him when they had Obama to pick from, and the conservatives didn't vote for him since he was not a conservative, and he never tried to campaign to them anyhow.
So until this event, Trump had been following the same Plan To Fail and had not visited Green bay, Wausau, Eau Claire, LaCrosse.
But this time he visited Green Bay.
So this does seem to be a change of plan.

I don't care what any Pollster or anybody sucking the polls has to say about what polls mean this close to THIS election, and any other polls over the last 70 years.

This election is entirely different than any of the elections since after WWII. There is more of a mix of all ethnicity in this country by far, and a much different cultural view and bias from the media. And... Believe it or not, the non-whites who aren't blacks are likely the first ones to tell you how grateful they are to live here. (They did that 20 years ago, but nobody was listening to them back then when we were too busy watching Fisher Stevens play the Indian Cyrano de Bergerac to Johnny 5).

There are more people educated under 40 today than EVER before. People walk around with phones/computers/cameras today that are about a million times as powerful as the computer that was the size of a schoolbus in the mid 70s.

There is also a very specific attack on core republican values being targeted by SJW's that has been telegraphed for over a year now. Hilary Clinton should play some Dark Souls before this goes any further. Learn how quickly people can deflect your attacks when you telegraph for even a half-second.

At the end of the day, I'm scared of both of them.

No wonder why nobody gives a fuck about Batman V Superman.

Hillary VS. Trump is real, and it's fucking terrifying.

It's terrifying because "Any way you look at it you lose".... But this ain't the 70's and this ain't a 45 year old Simon and Garfunkle Song.

I should point out in this thread that Trump is actually showing up and campaigning in Green Bay for 2016. Romney's strategy to fail focused on avoiding any area of the state outside of the Libtard-centric Milwaukee and Madison areas.
