It was a diplomatic gesture that most people could ever understand. A class move on his part and it irks people that he was thoughtful enough to represent our nation in an act of honor and democracy. Japan, for all intents and purposes, is an ally. An important one at that, in that part of the world.

He did a very strategic move, as well as create good will around the globe. And it showed strength. And if people don't get it, well, they never will.
