Wow...this is a really excellent pic, though when did the crew end up on Angel for any reason? Cuz I know Lilac, Beaumonde, Haven, Miranda and Whittier (Mr. Universe's planet in the ion cloud I presume) but not Angel.

That planet was called Bena, if my memory serves... And Beaumonde is called a planet by the S:RPG. Take that as you will.

Other than that, all forms of cartography are appreciated. The 'Verse is a pretty complicated place to explain without pretty pictures.

Thanks for the comments, y'all!

There's no canon source on the name of Inara's world, though maybe it's in the novel (which i have not read) or somewhere else. I gave it the name Angel (which came from the "Worlds of the Alliance" chart in the RPG) off the top of my head. If it is in the novel, please let me know... Something for version five of the map (sigh).

Likewise, Mr. Universe's world was never named, but I have designated it Whittier (again, a name from that chart) for purposes of this map.

You're right, Beaumonde is called a planet in the RPG, but sometimes I think they have a habit of calling moons planets. At the very least, I don't think there's any canon source that states it's a moon. Anyhoo, it would be easy to change the name of the primary in that planetary system from Highgate to Beaumonde if you like.

As you can probably guess, I felt that canon (i.e. on-screen) info was the most important. I used info from the RPG and other semi-official sources where it suited me, but didn't have a problem throwing it out when it contradicted other canon sources, or what I thought was "common sense" as it related to this map. For example, I did use the planet names from "Worlds of the Alliance" chart (which never appeared on-screen) because it suited me, but had no problem ignoring the so-called star cluster map that sits beside it (which, to my mind, is highly stylized to the point of being useless, and never appeared on-screen in that format anyway).

Here’s another of my ship designs for the Serenity roleplaying game. This one is influenced by the classic pony express of the old west. I wanted something slightly smaller than a Firefly but somewhat faster, used mainly as a courier or light transport. After designing several more functional, industrial-type ships I wanted to make something that a group of player characters might be flying around in.
