I haven't heard it explained as to why it resembled a western, so I will take a stab at it. If you moved to a new planet that was Tara Formed. It had no roads and gas stations. How would you get around? If their were no mills, lumber yards, or restaurants how would you start out. I am guessing much like our ancestors.
