Interesting stylized look. You know what would work well with this? Some kind of stained-glass or some such.

Don't worry, we're pretty gentle. We have all age ranges of people on the board. Most of us keep the fanfic clean too, though you'll want to watch out for anything rated NC-17 or M or R in comments - those are ones you probably don't want to be reading in school. You might be able to spot them when they aren't labeled as such by the description if they sound risque or anything, or you might start to recognize authors that have a tendency to write violence or other not-safe material.

I know what those computers are like. I feel your pain. *shake fist*

Another note, I'm well-versed in netspeak - including leet, though I'm not sure if I should be proud of that or not.

So, in casual talk, I'd say write how you feel comfortable, but also watch out, because some people won't read anything with a lot of shortened words or misspellings. But they probably also won't bother you about it around here.

Fanfic itself veries a lot between formal prose and very casual. So long as it's readable and you approximate the character voices though, people seem to be willing to give it a chance. Beta-readers for proofreading can help, I sometimes use beta readers when something I'm writing isn't flowing well or just sounding ugly.

Something I've done to be absolutely safe is I just don't read stories on here while on content blocking computers unless I've assessed that author at home and found them safe.

I agree with Bytemite, definitely get a beta. They see things from a different perspective and see plotholes or other stuff the writer themselves might have missed and it's good to bounce ideas of each other. Can help you get out of a tight spot you might have narrated yourself into. I know people that have two or even three Betareaders (Like one for grammar, one for commas and such)
Keep on going! :)
