I loved this to bits, my friend. The idea of Mal following in his mother and father's footsteps to write love letters to River is just so shiny. And I can imagine her keeping them tied in a bundle with blue silk ribbon just like his ma. This was beautifully done, *xie xie ni*, Ali D :~)

Beautiful. And even in this day and age, a love letter in the hand is worth so much more than words on a screen, or a quick text.

Unlike the others, I don't need to know what Mal wrote to River, because I can imagine. What I'd like to know is if his mother ever wrote to his father, and what hers were like. Thank you.

Very beautiful and very eloquent. Loved the line that the greatest gift a man can give his children is to love their mother. Very beautifully done - what a gift Mal was given to know how much his parents loved each other.
