This ain't bad at all...though for some reason, the choice of image kinda disturbs me. Seems like Kaylee/Jewel is trying to disguise a need to use the toilet;)

Still! This is great work and I think you will only improve with practice and more encouragement;D

not entirely happy with it myself. I wanted 3 elements: the Firefly logo; the slogan, to counteract the other one that's out there;and, a picture of Jewel smiling. I get my screen caps from still-flying.net, and as nice as Jewel looks on TV, the frames thay captured for the pilot all had goofy expressions on her face. Nothing from the parasol sequence or the strawberry sequence did it for me. This is from the engine room, just after the Crazy Ivan. I wanted to use the shot of her caressing the ship, but the caps they had of that weren't right. Maybe this is cropped too close.

Nooooooo! Don't let that be the last! It's way better than my first tries! And the caption and idea are really good. The only thing iffy is the photo, and you've already identified that yourself.

How about using Kaylee's smile in 'Out of Gas' when Mal asks if she wants a job? The colour is a little odd as it's in flashback, but it actually blends into black quite well.

The smile from the pilot is just after the one you chose. She says "That's my girl!" and then breaks into a really wide grin. Take a look. The caps are both on http://www.still-flying.net.

But *please* don't give up. You have a good eye, and all it takes is practice. I actually like thay you're using something different. I think far too many of us rely on the parasol and strawberry scenes!

I think I posted this because I wasn't happy with it, and was hoping for criticism/advice about how to fix it.
Just gotta mess with that pic of Kaylee, gotta go back to still-flying and download some more images.
